Hi,
I'm trying to make a tool that will simply provide whois info about a domain.
After opening an connection to port 43 on whois.internic.org, and typing a domain, I get the whois info along with this disclaimer:TERMS OF USE: You are not authorized to access or query our Whois database through the use of electronic processes that are high-volume and automated except as reasonably necessary to register domain names or modify existing registrations;...Further down in the terms, it says something about Verisign. What does Verisign have to do with whois info from Internic?
If, for some reason, I wanted to look up the whois info for a huge number of domains, how would I do this? If I want to look up 100 domains per second, what service can I use to look up these domains? Do I need to be a registrar to look up this many domains?
Also, does the TLD matter when looking up a domain?
Thanks
