It would be nice to have a host that pays me once a year, but I want them to pay me more than 50 cents. :D

I am not sure I understand why people believe that a webhost can provide a good service for .50 to $10/year. I would have thought that recent examples would show that it is not a sustainable business plan.

dandanfirema, people that only want to pay $0.50 for hosting do not understand the words: "sustainable business plan"

What I don't get is why people who want the best ISP for themselves, would subject their website vistors to such cheap and unreliable servers.

umm .50 cents? You can't even buy a pen for .50 cents let alone server space.

Please, if you want reliable and stable webhosting then you must pay for it. It's a service that people work very hard to provide. If you're interested in free hosting then please visit geocities.

People sign up for $10 a year accounts and then wonder why no one answers their e-mail, support requests and their site just disappears because the company has run with your money or has become bankrupt.

yeah, $12/year can be done if you are pooling. dixie has the reseller plan for $10 w/ 800 megs storage, 12000 megs bandwidth, 20 domains. well not anymore but you can email and ask.

anyway, if you get 10 people to sign up, that is $1/person/mo.

i haven't read any bad comment about dixie hosting yet.

C'mon guys, give me a break... Usually it's just US$ 1.00 for merchant transaction fee, %4-7 the discount rate.

That means if even a host is offering a package for US$ 3.99 he's almost loosing.
