The topic says it.
My company is considering to move to 100% colocation, instead of colocation and leasing (dedicated servers). But is it worth it with the current market?
I mean colocation has advantages:
You own the hardware
You have control
etc etc
But so does "leasing" a dedicated server:
You don't have to pay for replacement hardware
Not much upkeep besides the server
The price is about the same when considering high quality bandwidth (Internap). The only thing that raises the cost is buying the servers.
So my question is.. is it worth it for a small company to be 100% colocated?
