View Full Version : easy to use and not too expensive
Fozzie21 10-20-2007, 02:20 PM Hey guys,
I am looking for the easiest way to setup an online store... It is going to be for selling hair extensions. will only have a handful of items on it... im not a web designer at all, but lately i been running into these projects more and more..
I dont want the store front to overpower the site. It needs to look more like a website then a store...
The sooner the better, I would like to start working on it this weekend if possible..
links ideas would be appreciated..
Thanks

Have a look at http://www.phpcart.net/ - it's about as simple as it gets for an ordering system and you can easily integrate it into your design.
Fozzie21 10-20-2007, 07:09 PM that doesnt look too bad or hard to use.. There demo didnt show me much... Where can i get templates for it? there sites link isnt working....
Fozzie21 10-20-2007, 08:23 PM I been looking at it more and more and i think i do like its functions...

It's an ordering system only, you make your own pages and place buy links on your pages by your products (html is generated by the script) - all the script does is take the order details and payment - you did ask for something simple!
Fozzie21 10-21-2007, 09:00 AM comsidering i dont know much about webdesign, thats not going to be good then...
im a network engineer and lately been getting asked to do these small web design projects...
alex-developer 10-21-2007, 10:20 AM I recommend the oscommerce, as for store design you can purchase on templatemonster URL:
http://www.templatemonster.com/category.php?from=1&type=14
or ask freelancer to develop the unique design.

With all due respect unless you know at least the basic of building web sites I'd look to outsource the work somewhere. I know for sure that, as a web designer, I wouldn't be able to tackle a network job such as yours without proper training etc.

I agree, it's a really nice, simple shopping cart. But, you have to look someplace else for similar setup or hold off your plans for now. The developer has either sold the rights to it or been "abandoned." Check out the cart forums...

I figured that from the beginning.. I just figured since it was such a simple site i could figure it out on my own...

brightinternet 10-25-2007, 05:21 AM Hi,
Have a look at www.polyspaston.com they have a great ecommerce tool that is quite cheap. Plus a hosting account piece of software that is quite widely used.

I'd not noticed that, thanks for pointing it out. I used the script in the past for some projects. Same because it filled a need!
