If you have control panel installed it would be far easier to configure everything via web interface - of course after apache is installed. friendklay 10-22-2007, 12:17 PM I believe as a newbie interested in webhosting you should simply buy a hosting package that has some form of control panel (other than webmin) specifically tailored towards web hosting. Cpanel & Plesk are two of the most popular control panels. It does all that you would want and is web based. Most hosting service providers can help you out with it's use. Hope that helps. sam642000 10-23-2007, 08:55 AM I'm sorry to post this here, I'm being blocked from creating a "New Topic". Which adds to an already frustrating situation. :o I read about domaintools.com here and decided to get a membership. It sends a confirmation email, but the confirmation link returns a blank page. I have tried different email addresses, different browsers etc. I know I should be contacting domaintools.com for this problem, but here is the kicker. None of their contact links allow submission of a question to Support without a member name. I even tried their blog to see if I can ask there, and that too requires a membership. So if any of you have a domaintools membership and can help me (I have to look up whois history for one domain) or can assist me with a solution to getting a membership, I would really appreciate it. Thank you, Sam |
