Coolraul 10-19-2007, 10:55 PM Are these dual core, or dual processor or not duals at all?
Superb 10-19-2007, 11:40 PM Real actual physical dual CPU (Pro servers - for more details see our site).
Mylord 10-20-2007, 01:36 AM this server seems to be 179USD after using coupon code:7373. i have tried the coupon but not change to 79USD/month. Are you sure with link?

So it's 79 USD for the first 12 months (paid monthly), and after those 12 months we get the server for another 6 months for free?
Regards,
DSD-Dan 10-20-2007, 06:45 AM Is it a 2.4 or a 2.8? Do we get a choice? First come, first serve?

DCvoluwe 10-20-2007, 09:41 AM I hope it's 79 cuz otherwise it's a really bad deal ;)
bdsnyder 10-20-2007, 09:49 AM This is how I figured out the $79:
you ACTUALLY pay $179 for 12 months.
Then get 6 months free.
$179 x 12 = $2148 / 18 (12+6) = $119 NET per month
THEN, since you are getting $40 in upgrades free
(100mb/s $15mo + 1GB RAM $25mo),
you're supposed to FEEL ;) like you were paying $79 per month
($119 - "$40" = "$79")
is this correct?
DCvoluwe 10-20-2007, 10:16 AM Jesus, if that's the case, then that's just wrong marketing IMO.

piotrek 10-20-2007, 05:46 PM Superb: Can you clarify if we would pay 79$ or that we would just feel like that (and be actually paying 179$)?

Me too. Just waiting response from Superb on the questions above.

Sorry for the confusion - not sure why because it clearly stipulated that:
"This is based on keeping the server for 12 months and an additional savings of $40/mn on a FREE 1GB RAM and 100 mb/s Port Upgrade!"
There is no feel, when you calculate the price over 18 months, with the free months and everything, it works out to $79 per mn.
As it said, it is for people who will be hosting for more than 12 mns who are looking to save money over that period. For such customers it is an incredible deal. It is definitely not for people just looking for a quick server for a month or 2.
Hopefully this fully clarifies this. Again, it is not just a quickie giveaway but for someone looking for long-term hosting.
bdsnyder 10-21-2007, 07:13 PM There is no feel, when you calculate the price over 18 months, with the free months and everything, it works out to $79 per mn.
price
noun (plural pric·es)
Definition: cost of something bought or sold
cost
noun (plural costs)
Definition: amount paid for something: the amount of money required to be paid for something
So, since you say the PRICE is $1,422 (18 months x $79),
the COST (money paid to Superb) for this server during those 18 months is $1,422, correct?
Otherwise, you sir, are twisting the meaning of PRICE.
WHT is not a used car lot
Superb 10-22-2007, 11:42 AM Absolutely the cost over 18 mns is $1422 - which works out to $79/m for this server. For someone who needs a server like this and requires hosting for more than 12 mns this is a really good deal.
Works out to 30-40% savings over that period which is phenomenal. Anytime I can save this much money it is like earning 30-40% on my money.
However for those looking for a cheap server, and only need quick, short-term hosting, we have some really great deals on P4s.
BTW, if you go through the WHT hosting offers regularly, it appears to be just what you are talking about. The lowest price is all that matters (not that you are one of the very oldest hosting company or that your network is one of the best if not best in the industry or the company's experience in hosting).
bdsnyder 10-22-2007, 12:20 PM Absolutely the cost over 18 mns is $1422

So, obviously, the ordering system must be wrong,
can you let me know when it's fixed?
thanks

Actually, my bad, I was responding to your post and ended up typing in your first total of $1422, which is not what is correct. The one here is correct. At the end of 12 months you will have paid $2148.00
Thank you for pointing out this out.
It is very important to note that you do not need to pay upfront to get this deal. The upgrades are automatically FREE and you can pay month to month and then get the 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18th month free.
However if you are looking only to pay $79 month to month, we have some P4 which will fall into your budget.
piotrek 10-22-2007, 04:17 PM Actually, my bad, I was responding to your post and ended up typing in your first total of $1422, which is not what is correct. The one here is correct. At the end of 12 months you will have paid $2148.00How come you're saying 'as low as 79$' then? Your calculations and/or marketing is just bad...
The upgrades are automatically FREE and you can pay month to month and then get the 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18th month free. They are far away from being free...
Let me explain...
Let's consider 79$ as the base price of the server (as you're advertising it).
79$ x 18 = 1,422$. So 79$ isn't average price over the 18 months period.
Now, let's add free upgardes (which aren't really free... It's forced upgrade for which your clients are paying 40$/month extra).
(79$+40$) x 18 = 119 x 18 = 2,142$... Or 179$ x 12 if you prefer...
...so your clients are paying 179$ for the first 12 months (and next 6 are free). Which means 119$ average over 18 months.
I can't really see how can you advertise this as 'as low as 79$'! Yes... You could push it and say something as 'as low as 119$', otherwise its just bad :P

Sounds like a good idea ;)

Superb 10-22-2007, 06:20 PM First of all, our apologies for any confusion this post caused.
Many of the above points were valid.
We should have:
1. More clearly shown the math at how one arrives at the price of $79/m
2. Made it clear that the monthly cost would be $119/m if you do not want the upgrades
We will be more obvious next time so all valid points.
Thank you to those who clarified this.

netspots 10-22-2007, 06:35 PM For a very limited time, get a powerful Dual Xeon Server at an unbelievable deal!
Yes, it seems so. ;)
piotrek 10-22-2007, 07:42 PM 2. Made it clear that the monthly cost would be $119/m if you do not want the upgradesErm... I'm confused now (yet again :P).
Did you mean:
- 119$ average over 18 months with upgrades,
or
- 119$ for the first 12 months without upgrades? (But it would be 60$/month savings, not 40$...). This would also mean 79$ average over 18 months... But I don't know where did that 60$ came from ;)
bdsnyder 10-22-2007, 09:31 PM I'm confused now (yet again :P).
I feel your pain

But, is this offer still available?
If so then,
LET'S MAKE THIS AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE
If I order this server, now, using your ordering system:
1) What SHOULD I see if I CHECKED the 2 FREE upgrades?
$________ per month $79.00 setup | Month to Month (Credit Card)
2) What SHOULD I see if I DO NOT CHECK the 2 FREE upgrades?
$________ per month $79.00 setup | Month to Month (Credit Card)
PLEASE JUST FILL IN THE BLANKS, NOTHING MORE
Of course, I understand that by checking any
additional options, other than the 2 upgrades discussed,
will increase the monthly cost of this server.
I UNDERSTAND by using PROMO CODE 7373 when ordering,
after the 12th month, I will be given 6 FREE MONTHS
*** I *** can calculate my NET MONTHLY COST
based on 12 PAID MONTHS + 6 FREE MONTHS
right now, using your ordering system,
all I'm seeing is $179 per month...

This is correct it is $179/mn for the first 12 mns either way. So with or without upgrades it will be $179/mn and this will then work out to $119/mn with or without upgrades (if you do not want them, then do not select them)
BTW, if anyone cannot understand this fully you are welcome to call me and I will be happy to walk you through the process step by step.
Our toll-free number is on the web site.
Thank you.
