View Full Version : Hostcharge
lanie 08-01-2002, 09:52 AM I filled out the online sign-up form yesterday and am still awaiting the email they said I would receive adivising of the application number.
As I can't fax my documents until I get the application number, it is a bit strange that the email has not arrived. Especially considering that they say if you do not fax your documents within 48 hours your application will be voided.
Has anyone else experienced this with Hostcharge?
Akash 08-01-2002, 10:38 AM I did...you have to click all the way through until it says "Application received blah blah blah"

Hi akash,
Thanks for your response.
I did follow the application all the way through. It told me my appplication had been approved (which I presume it does for everyone) and then it said I should fax some docs to them, and that I would get an email with an application number, which I should include on the docs I send.
No email with an application number has arrived, so I can't send the requested docs.
Very frustrating.
Akash 08-01-2002, 11:03 AM on the page where it says "please confirm this informaiton" scroll to the bottom and click the next button. an OK box should appear that tells you its been sent. it should bring you back to the main page after that
DayGlo 08-01-2002, 12:01 PM Does anyone have problems opening the auhorization.doc file on their site? I could view the terms doc file but not the authorization file and tried downloading it a few times.
It might be the computer i was using but i'm not sure.

I was able to get the file with no problem.
But if it helps, I have attached it here for you.
Asher S 08-01-2002, 12:52 PM Hi,
We're in the midst of converting the documents to PDF format that should solve the issues that keep on poping up with the documents :)
Regards,
Asher.
Akash 08-01-2002, 12:58 PM i'll convert them right now for ya :D
lanie 08-01-2002, 01:02 PM Hi asher,
If I faxed the required docs to you earlier today (which I did), how soon can I expect my account with you to be set up?
Thanks in advance fro taking the time to reply :)
Asher S 08-01-2002, 01:08 PM akashd,
Dont bother because there are new forms comming out, more stylish hehe :D
lanie,
There are 100's of signups pending right now, yours is probably one of them, you will receive your account details no later than today :)
Asher.
DayGlo 08-01-2002, 01:20 PM Thanks guys, i am at work now and could view the file inside the zip.
After my shift i'll try it from the computer i was using before and cross my fingers :)
DayGlo 08-01-2002, 01:22 PM Asher, when will the new forms be out?
Should i bother trying to use the old doc's?
Thanks.

smc_one 08-01-2002, 03:33 PM Asher..
I just sent an inquiry about your services to your sales department, but I thought I would ask here as well..
Is there any way of seeing a demo of how the system works before creating an account? I have a pretty complex back-end system and I just need to be sure/check what options you have for interfacing to your system - or is there any docs I can view on how to integrate a website with your system?
Thanks in advance..
Asher S 08-01-2002, 03:37 PM I have responded to your email :)
maybe this will help.... I e-mailed my documents to tevor on monday (he said i could.. as I had tried to fax them before with poor results) and I'm still waiting contact. I've send another e-mail but haven't gotten a repsosne to that either. e-mail address is neil at xuthosting.com ) thanks.
*edit*

I realise that I sent my docs just this morning. And if you had said it will take 2 days or 5 days or whatever, then I would have no problem. But when you tell me, oh it will be today, and then today is pretty much over (it's 6 PM EDT) and I haven't heard anything...
So, may I clarify if today does actually mean today and you are just in a differenct time zone. Or does it really mean tomorrow, or even next week? becuase the previous poster sent their docs on Monday and still haven't been set-up.

Hi :)
I don't mean to seem impatient. If I have to wait, then so be it.
My point really was about the expectation that was set by Asher. When a service provider sets an expectation like that they should fully intend to meet it. To often these days people say - oh it will be 'today' or 'next week', when 'today' really means next week and 'next week' really means in a couple of weeks.

We process signups till 12am EST. When I say today, I mean today.

lanie, let me know your application number so that I can have your account setup earlier.

Hi Asher,
I appreciate the offer. Thank you. But I will just wait to have it processed normally. My posting here was not meant as a way to get special treatment.
If you say, as you did above, that it will be done today as part of the normal order processing then that is fine for me.

Hi,
I would still like to know your order number so that we can expedite the process.
Thanks,

I hate to become all suspicious here but, I find it odd that:
- The person is complaing that the signup is taking too long
- The person refuses to tell me their order number?
Even if you dont want your order expedited I'd like to know which application # is yours so that I can atleast tell you where your order is queued.
- Asher.

Asher, there is nothing to be suspicious of. I wasn't actually complaining that the order was taking to long per say, I was pointing out that you said it would be done today and that so far it has not. I would be happy to wait however long it takes - I just don't like being strung along with empty promises.
So no, I will not tell you my application number because I actually want to see how long it does take. If I give you my order number, you will expedite the order. This is not then an accurate refelction of how long it actually takes to get an account set-up with Hostcharge.
So, thank you again for taking the time to answer my posts here. I appreciate it. But, I politley decline your offer to speed up my application.

Lanie, now heres the reason for my suspicion, we've just activated the last 5 accounts. There are no more accounts pending (except for unconfirmed signups without faxes).
lanie 08-01-2002, 07:41 PM It is unfortunate that as a geniune applicant who wants to be a customer is being spoken to in this way. I have every right to post my experience here. Just becuase I choose not to have you expedite my application, I am suddenly 'suspicious'.
If you don't have any faxes left to process, then you are obviously still experiencing your mysterious fax probelm that so many have mentioned on this forum.
I have tried twice now to politley advise you that I will wait. Yes it is to see if you can actually live up to your commitment without giving me any special treatment, but I don't really think that is too outrageous.
I can only presume that you knew full well that it was very likely my application would NOT be processed today and do not want this to happen (becuase I would disclose this here?)- which is why you asked for my application number.
We I am sure you will not miss me as a customer Asher, just as I will not miss you as a provider. So good day to you.
Edit:
Has Neil's application (sent in on Monday) been processed? If you just finsihed the last five - I presume that his application is complete?

Fax problems? Hardly! Our signups for the day have been completed, and now here is a person without a website, and without even posting their real name (lanie?) or email address who is complaining that he/she cannot get his/her account.
The person also has no evidence that he/she has signed up at all and is not even willing to supply their order number which proves just that.
Rather than being helpful and possibly troubleshooting a fax problem (which I doubt exists) this person is completely ignoring my request for an order number so that we can possibly look into diagnosing any problems that might be there with our fax system.
Well ladies and gentlement of this board, its your choice to believe what you want about who is right or wrong in this case. :)

Yes Neil has been mailed his account info.

Asher S 08-01-2002, 07:53 PM Add: Fax problems? How very unlikely since we just received 3 more faxes!
I've had nothing but good experience with host charge so far. I must admit my personal signup experience was slightly different than most others (not at the fault of hostcharge, but mine.) They hwoever were quite accomidating - I have receieved my login information and look forward to using hostcharge. (as an aside - they do have a toll free number which IS answered.. even at 2am on Saturday morning.)
lanie 08-01-2002, 08:08 PM Asher,
Why did you turn this into an ugly confrontation? I posted a concern. You said my application would be dealt with today. I said fine, I would wait.
Please stop attacking me. You are accusing me of being underhanded, when all I did was post here about wait time for an application.
Lanie is actually my name - it is the one my friends and family call me.
I did not want to give you my application number becuase you were being very aggressive. I do not think it is nessicary to speak to customers in that way, no matter what the situation. I have not treated you in this way. I have thanked you for your time, and been entirely polite.
lanie 08-01-2002, 08:17 PM If I was infact lying, as you are accusing, and had not submitted an application. Then I would not have received the follwoing email:
From: "== Sales == HostCharge.com" <sales@hostcharge.com>

Please fax the above documents to 1-810-9638458 and we will process your application.

Akash 08-01-2002, 08:19 PM uhhh.....I hate to be the ******* here but this really should be handled off forums....mods...please close this thread.
lanie 08-01-2002, 08:20 PM Asher,
Do not worry yourself any further about my application.
I have no further interest in using Hostcharge as my provider.
Asher S 08-01-2002, 08:22 PM Excuse me? When did I attack you? I have done except being as polite and professional as possible.
Furthermore, I just searched all new signups, there is absolutely no signup under the name of Lanie.
Regards,
Asher.

Yes the mods should close this thread and its going no where. I am not going to answer any more questions on this thread since the thread starter has no evidence that they really signed up.
The email you have posted can easily be obtained by signing up under a dummy name. INFACT we get more than 25 dummy signups. So you have nothing to prove, if you did, you would post your order number here.
- Asher
Akash 08-01-2002, 08:25 PM ok like i said a second ago this should be handled off forums...asher I suggest you stop discussing this here and ask lanie to email you...
...lanie...like i said earlier it could be a clerical error, please do try again and include everything (for application, voided check, ur cc#, etc), HostCharge really is a great company. Like many similar companies, every once in a while a sheet of paper is filed incorrectly by a human, apart from actual merchant accounts, hostcharge is the best provider of the service.
DayGlo 08-01-2002, 08:27 PM Nice, I faxed the doc's from another location and by the time i was home (10-20 mins) i checked my mail and our account was setup.
Good job. :)
BTW i like the MCC.

What I said was that Lanie is the name my friends and family use, it is not my legal name.
As you have been so rude in your last few posts Asher, I do not want to share any further details about myself or my application with you. I am not comfortable doing so becuase you obviously have a problem with me.
0wned 08-01-2002, 08:52 PM I have been a client of Host Charge for about 3 months now. My experience has been above and beyond what I could have ever expected. Asher is always available when I need him and has always been a pleasure to deal with. Host Charge is a top notch company and I would never consider a different processor.
Their interface is already the best around yet they contimue to improve on it. Great company... HIGHLY recomended!
OK, I think that's quite sufficient. This should be continued off-forum if so desired.
