View Full Version : Best Domain Name Registrars

I really hope I'm not violating any rules here.

My problem is that I have over one hundred domains with my current registrar, but when I have to change DNS name server information, I have to change it one domain at a time.

It takes forever.

Are their any registrars out there with a more advanced way to change name servers (or lock/unlock) domains more efficiently?

If this is the wrong question to ask here, my apologies in advance.

I like how enom does Bulk Management. You dont even have to choose each domain name that you want to change. All you have to do is put domains in different folders and set the settings, thats it.

Once they are in that folder (magic folder) you can change any information you want and all changes get applied to all the domains in that folder, this way you dont have to worry if you accidentally forget to check a domain name or something.

Most registrars have bulk management tools, which registrar are you using?

I use GoDaddy.com for domain registration services, after the RegisterFly and Enom debacle. Given Enom's involvement in the whole RegisterFly meltdown, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. (OK, maybe my worst enemy, but that's it.) It'd be different if Enom tried to help me, but they didn't. Wouldn't accept anything other than faxed photo ID but I didn't have a driver's license (never had one, I don't drive) and their business development person Elida just sent the same template response. My contact information was up to date but they wouldn't budge. Eventually, I lucked out and got my auth-code from RegisterFly and got the heck out of there and to GoDaddy.com.

Does GoDaddy.com do bulk updates for name servers? I'd assume so, but haven't checked. As I only own 12 domains, bulk updates aren't a huge deal for me. :)

Other than GoDaddy.com, I'd recommend either Tucows or directNIC.com, though directNIC's web servers are really slow and they have questionable a domain squatting business. And yes, it's domain squatting. "Domain monetizing" is too tactful. :P

By the way, does anyone know who the owners of Name.com are and is Name.net the same company?

no, name.com and domainsite.com are the same company.

I still believe that Godaddy.com is the best, if you don't care about money (since there domain prices went up) its still the best domain managing website, they are very secure.

Thanks everybody, and Techno, thanks for the screen shot.

I'm using omnis.com right now. Just sort of fell into it when I bought and built my first site.

name.com is looking pretty good right now.

Gracias!

I'm happy with Namecheap. :)

Fasthosts is a good one too for the UK.
