I think when someone sees "us" in a domain name, they pronounce it as "uhs" Not "yoo ess"

So I think you would have trouble convincing people to think of your site (uspeople.com) as (U.S.people.com).

*Disclaimer: I have know idea if those/that site exists. The above is for illustrative purposes only.

Why not register "domain.us" instead?

I second that notion.

us in front of the name would more than likely devalue the worth of a domain name. a large number of people will read it as "us" as in "the two of us", i would think "usa" would be more appropriate. Then again depending on the nature of the site, consider anything which will geographically limit the scope of your business and domain name.

depends on what comes 'after' the US.. and how it's presented visually..
for example.. if you owned
UShousing..
write it like that UShousing
not ushousing.

CAP the US.

i have one domain that has a usXXXXXXX behind it (X=rest of the name, not in adultXXX)

and as per the example:
UShousing could easily be branded & radio advertised with easy recall.

Of course. But your marketing of the sites using them doesn't have to be.

.us is .youess (verbally) and not "us"

So, that will be kissmy.youess, unless you are a smart.us:stickout
