View Full Version : 37 year old mom of 2 looking for graphic design work
tensixteen64 07-31-2002, 06:56 PM Thought I would put myself out there, since everyone else seems to be. :)
My site is Graphics-by-Sara (http://www.graphics-by-sara.com) and I have over 10 years experience doing web pages, html and graphics.
Email or PM me if you need a reliable graphics design artist/web designer. Oh, and I do web maintenance as well.

geiger 07-31-2002, 09:25 PM Um... is the web even 10 years old?? That's even pre-Windows95. Wow! :)
Samuel 07-31-2002, 09:38 PM Geiger, I started working with computerized graphics in 1982
geiger 07-31-2002, 09:53 PM But that's not web work :)
Samuel 07-31-2002, 09:56 PM Read her post again, it doesnt matter, she said
Web, HTML, AND graphics
geiger 07-31-2002, 10:02 PM Read her post again.
It matters. 'and' means ALSO. Which means ALL THREE for 10 years.
Hope you don't mind the debate :) We're just bumping your thread!
Samuel 07-31-2002, 10:15 PM Symantics, its a total of 10 years combining those three things.
She could have smoked crack in that time also, she is just highlighting some skills, those being the 3 highlights, in the ten year period.
Bumping: yea she deserves it though, she has a large body of work.
Blackman 08-01-2002, 03:50 AM body of work.
Stop hitting on the women ;) j/k
Samuel 08-01-2002, 03:57 AM Nice bump!
tensixteen64 08-01-2002, 07:47 AM :) Thanks guys. *LOL* @ smoking crack.
If you read the resume, you will see what I have been doing. ;)
I have worked with graphics since 1992, which makes it 10 years for that and HTML since 1993. I still shudder at my first homepage on AOL. No offense to the AOL users out there, but I was soooooo happy to have a dial-up vs. using AOL. To this day I still wonder, what would have happened to AOL if I hadn't been one of the first to use it successfully? GeoCities housed the rest of our pages until we finally bought our domains.
And yes, there was such a thing as the internet! Microsoft wasn't even on the 'net till 1993. You can read more about that here: History of Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/misc/features/features_flshbk.htm) Hubby taught me the fine basics of DOS. :) Yup, the pre-Windows era.
Thanks for the debate, it will make me chuckle all day~

blackdog 08-01-2002, 04:14 PM hmm... all your sites are pretty simple. i'd build up a solid portfolio of sites that are of proffesional quality before i start asking for work
tensixteen64 08-01-2002, 04:31 PM Thanks for your opinion. Hm, do you have a portfolio? Would love to get an idea of a professional one.
Sara
blackdog 08-01-2002, 09:20 PM sorry, but i'm workin on mine as well :D if you really want to see professional, check out http://www.2advanced.com
geiger 08-01-2002, 09:24 PM Blackdog, that's a bit unfair and a very bad example. 2advanced is one of the better design COMPANIES on the net. There is no way she could achieve that.
Acroplex 08-01-2002, 10:34 PM Big whoopee, I was finger - painting on cave walls with animal dung, around 45,000 BC
:D
Lord Michel 08-02-2002, 05:37 AM Hi, Sara.. I would suggest if you change your Navigation alittle bit, it took me awhile to finally get it all right ;)
tensixteen64 08-02-2002, 09:49 AM Lord Michel,
You had a problem finding all the pages? I just redid the navigation on that site. What could I improve?
Thanks,
Sara
Lord Michel 08-03-2002, 06:42 AM Hi,
Its much better now, BUT.
Look at the butterfly, and then look at the shadow of the butterfly.
And the Simply Sara could use a texture?
Michel
tensixteen64 08-03-2002, 08:24 AM Oh, you are talking about the Simply Sara site. Silly me. I thought you were talking about my graphics site. :)
www.graphics-by-sara.com is the site for my business.
