Thinking about getting a new merchant account and are currently deciding between the two? I have done my search and both seem OK. I still want to hear more about them, especially from those with on-hand experience with them.

Thank you!

E-Online Data IS NOT OK. I wont say more.
I'm sure you will find more positive feedbacks about CDG here than E-OD.

(a) Considering I have never heard of E-OnlineData, and

(b) I have been familiar with CDG Commerce for years, thanks to here at WHT, and

(c) CDG's support is simply outstanding?

I'd go with CDG in a heartbeat.

Leksus, what problem do you have with EOD? Would you mind sharing?

Bailey, I can follow your reasoning :D Questions for you then ...
1. Do they do gross daily settlement and only take their fees at the end of the month? This is much preferred since it simplifies the book-keeping.
2. Do they take reserve? If so, how much?
3. How is their chargeback process?

I read somewhere that e-onlinedata is owned by ipaymentinc? If so, that will not work for me as I am trying to get away from ipaymentinc ...

Stay very away from "ipaymentinc", completely crocked!

We opened an account with them 2 years ago and had nothing but problems, it took an expensive lawyer to put things right and ensure that we didnt get placed on the TMF list.

So if EOD are part of the same network, stay away...

I'd agree with the others.. CDG !

Hotdog;
What happened with iPayment?

IPayment's acquiring bank is JP Morgan Chase who is known around for very conservative risk underwriting policies. I don't know who is doing risk there IPayment or Chase but their risk department need either to learn what e-commerce is or just stop accepting e-com merchants. So my advise to you go with people who can at least tell you the difference between POS terminal and payment gateway. Or even better, ask them if they know what Verified by Visa is.

Sure Ipayment,

We were approved for a 25k monthly limit. We processed 15k in the first month, however after 2 weeks of not recieving funds I made some calls.

First excuse was a global ACH problem so my wire was delayed by 3 days, strange as no other bank had that problem.

2nd, i then called and they said "oh we need customer details as we have to call the customers"

So we faxed those in.

another week passed, I started calling the reseller, finally I had 3k in the bank deposited. then the next day they try and extract 5k from my business account. A call through to bank of america and that was soon stopped.

I called their risk and they said they were not happy with our transactions as they couldnt reach our customers. I called one of the cardholders on the other line and asked if anyone had called, silch! the risk guy was having none of it!

So basicly we lost a ton on money and then the following week I get a call from Cardservice, oh you're on the TMF list, can you tell us why.

Luckily i sweet talk the girl and she gives me 2 weeks to sort it out as we have a great record with them.

cut a long story short, hired a lawyer threatened this and that and that was the last we heard. TMF listing was removed and so was 15k of services!

Do searches on their CEO (Greg something). there is lots of information on him scamming investors etc..

I've been with CDGCommerce for about 6 months now and can say I am 100% satisfied with the features, support, and service. Everything is perfect - no problems thus far. You won't be disappointed if you choose them.

What I like about CDG Commerce more than the tons of free features they offer is their customer service.

I cannot divulge any information but basically they are willing to do everything they can to accommodate your special circumstances.

Hotdog101,

If you still have contacts for this lawyer I'd sure appreciate getting in touch with him. Lawyers like this become hot commodity nowadays. Please PM if you can. Tons of thanks!

You would need to contact CDG directly about these things -- no one here is going to be qualified to answer authoritatively on these issues. I don't know if their policies might vary customer-to-customer or depending on what industry you're in.

Sure, I'll get our accountant to dig out the number, we found him at the greensheet as cardservice agent said to look there.

I thought it was cool of cardservice to give us time to sort it out, we still got paid ontime and everything by them.

I think Corey Bryant is the agent on here for them so between him and CDG (not sure who the main sponser is for them).

Thanks for the kind words about our service, everyone, it is truly appreciated. I am definitely going to shoot this thread to our team as they are definitely the ones who deserve all of the credit for the many nice things said. :)

I would personally consider cdgcommerce since I have gone through many good reviews about them.

Wanted to share a current situation I am in with CDGCommerce.

About a week ago I signed up for an account and everything seemed to go through. I received an automatic email that said the application was successful and gave me some other steps I needed to complete. I had a question about one of the steps so logged in to live chat and was told that the application could not be found in their database. The person helping did not seem like he knew what he was talking about and told me applications sometimes take 1-2 hours to show up in the system and asked me to check back. When I checked back I was told the application still could not be found and I was going to have to do it all over again (its a long application).

Four days went by and then I received a message on my phone that said the application was pending because they had not received my additional information and to send it in as soon as possible. I called back later and was told by somebody else that the application could not be found in their database.

I don't want to put down CDGCommerce as I have seen great reviews but this is getting rediculous. I am about ready to find another solution as nobody working there seems to know whats going on. If anybody from CDGCommerce sees this and could actually give me some real information please email me at info@ozborn.net

Hello Ozborn, I can clarify this for you. As CDG strives to helps its merchants and partners we had to make some changes to the application sign up page so that it would work with iframes. The modifications worked great and was tested. We then tested the application process with the normal method and it still worked. However within a couple hours we noticed that there was a problem with the sessions so we had to fix that. From what I beleive is that you signed up during that couple hour window. The staff have been in contact with you today even about this but figured I best clear it up in here as well.

Well, obviously something is not right with the "your application cannot be found in the database" line, because otherwise you would not be able to login to their system to complete the activation and set up of your merchant account.

I suggest calling back and escalating until you come across someone who can answer your questions properly.

But coastgames, why would he have been able to access his account and complete the steps for set-up, if the application had not yet been received and processed?

Or perhaps I am misunderstanding just how far along the application process the client is.

Every CDG account I've been in contact with, there was no online access until the application had been approved. Once it's been approved, it's live... a whole merchant account doesn't just magically disappear one afternoon??

Hi Bithost. There are many levels to the application for many reason. There is what we call a Pre-application that has alot of the information from steps one and two. Only when step three is completed does it actually go to where the underwriting department can see it. There are daily email reminders (up to 15 days) to those who did not finish up the application or in this case the final submitting did not work. That is why there was no application ID shown and sent to the customer.

Ozborne was in contact with our staff yesterday and they were giving the information above about the step it was at.

Also I would like to say the email about completeing what was needed was an automated email sent when he submitted that final step.

Speaking of my laptop - it is back up and running now. Having to handle a large volume of e-mails each day got to be a little bit time consuming and challenging using Webmail vs Outlook. :)

It looks like everything is good to go on this thread but if not please feel free to let me know and we will be happy to help.

Wanted to share the "hopefully" ending result of this issue.

I sent in an email several days ago and received a reply from Kathy Brown that once again said the application could not be found.

coastgames was correct that CDGCommerce did give me a call but I wasn't around to answer it. Since then I tried to call back on three occasions at three different times of the day and every time went to voicemail in multiple departments.

I just got online to chat with a representative and after about 15 minutes davidg was able to locate the application. However, for some reason I am still having to complete the second half of it because it was not submitted into their system. I am not really upset that I have to re-complete the second half of the application as I understand that technical difficulties do arise if that was the case.
I am extremely upset that the first three people I talked to all told me that the application could not even be found in the system and everytime I tried to call support nobody was available to answer. Hopefully I have seen the worste side of CDGCommerce and it will only improve from here. As of right now, I'm not sure it could be any worse.

Hi Ozborn,

To provide a little additional insight, I am aware that there have been a few times recently (not many, but definitely a couple) where there were conflicting app status reports and some minor issues with our online application systems.

Our company has been in a huge growth trend this year and our app volume has necessitated a few internal adjustments on the part of our processes.

We are working through these right now at the same time that we are bringing on and training some new employees to help with the volume and to ensure the high level of service that we have always prided ourselves on.

This process should be fully completed here within the next week at which point I think any of the occasional issues that have popped up in recent weeks will cease to exist.

In addition, for some time now we have always been working on the next generation of our entire online application system which will be quite unlike anything else on the market once it is launched... but that is a longer term project.

I do appreciate your feedback as we take it all very seriously and want to make sure that any of the concerns brought up by any existing or future clients is dealt with in a prompt and professional manner.
