Sweet!

eNom.com now offers rapidSSL certificates for only $9.95.

That is awesome. We stopped reselling rapidSSL certs a few months ago, because they were more expensive then the SBS instant certs offered by enom. But now they are offering the rapidSSL certs at that pricing, I think they're going to be a big hit.

:agree:

Is that reseller pricing? Their site says $19.95 per year?

Our pricing is listed as $9.95. (We are ETP resellers with them, so we get their lowest pricing.)

I actually just ordered one of the rapidSSL certificates a few minutes ago ($9.95), and the order process is identical to the process for all the other certs offered by eNom. Very nice. Our customers are going to be happy they can get the rapidSSL certs once again. And I'm happy the pricing is so good!

It says $19.95/yr for me too vs. $14.95/yr for SBS Instant. One of these days I need to look into account type we have there. After bulkregistrar was bought by them all prices went up.

You need to discuss this with your "parent" reseller. They are the one who sets your pricing.

For example, we are ETP resellers directly under eNom, and so we get their lowest pricing. (rapidSSL certs for $9.95 and SBS Instant certs for $10.)

We are able to pass this pricing on to resellers "under" us, or we can increase the pricing if we want. (We don't.)

If you are paying more, then you should discuss the situation with whomever gave you your eNom reseller account. If they are not able to give you this pricing, then it means one of the following:

- They are not ETP resellers directly under eNom, so someone else is setting their pricing.

- They are not willing to pass on the lowest cost to you, and are adding a "markup" to make money from you.

I hope this helps.

You can find info about the rapidSSL certificates from their website here:

http://www.rapidssl.com/ssl-certificate-products/rapidssl/usd/ssl-certificate-rapidssl.htm

I think browser recognition is 99% for their certs. (ie: It won't work with very old versions of IE/netscape. Like version 3 or 4.)

We've sold hundreds of rapidSSL certificates over the years, and I have never seen a certificate not work for any browser.

Interesting, RapidSSL are $9.95 and SBS Instant $19.95, weird how theyve marked up the SBS instant for me but not RapidSSL...

Are you an ETP (direct reseller under eNom)? If not, then this is probably just how your parent reseller has set your pricing.

You should ask them to lower your SBS Instant pricing to $10, which is the lowest possible. :)

Do these also require chaining like the SBS instant ones? I'm reading "The lowest cost single root install SSL certificate available". Does this mean no chaining required?
