My domain (simple personal site) is going to expire on 06 Nov 2007. Do you think I still have enough time to transfer to other registrar like moniker or godaddy?

You should initiate the transfer immediately, so you have time to iron out any wrinkles if they occur.

With some 29 days to go, you should have no problem transferring AWAY, unless you are currently at one of those questionable registrars which deny anything less than 30 days. It doesn't really matter where you transfer TO (gaining registrar). Good luck.

The current registrar is eNom. Do you guys have experience on transfering from eNom to other places within the 30days?

It depends on where you transfer it to. eNom let domains transfer approx 7 days after it's been agreed between the 2 registrars. You will get a better idea of when it transfers after you've initiated the transfer. So why wait until the last minute? You've decided to transfer already, so transfer it now. You won't lose any of the registration period whenever you transfer it.

Just remember to keep an eye on it.

If it does not happen by 5 days before the expiry, renew it at enom. Wait out the sixty days, and then try again.

Hello wJones,

Check this out......

Before initiating a domain transfer request, there are a few things to be taken care of

Domain name must be 60 days old from the registration or previous renewal date
Domain name status should be ACTIVE
Collect the domain name transfer secret from your current registrar
Admin contact email id should be valid If the above conditions are fulfilled successfully, then the domain will get transferred in 5 days after the administrative contact's approval. It is advisable to transfer a domain at least 15 days before the expiry date to avoid any failure of the transfer.

All the Best !

Always transfer as far ahead of expiration as possible. With that said, I've transferred domains successfully post expiration (but prior to being deactivated with the current registrar). The transfer process gets a bad rep from shady registrars and due to the not well known steps, but really it's not bad. Just make sure your contact info is up to date and follow liasion's advice.
