View Full Version : WHT: Beating the horse to death
hostasia 07-30-2002, 11:26 PM including this one,
when I come into the forum and the first page consist of all different cyberwings threads
it's time to do something.
MadSkilage 07-30-2002, 11:33 PM There's always a flavor of the month. However, this flavor is getting very old, very fast
nvphone 07-30-2002, 11:34 PM 18 threads on one page!
Talk about getting free ad space.
Talk about playing into this guys hands!
Just change the name to the cyberwings forums.
Overkill?
Aussie Bob 07-31-2002, 12:01 AM Would you like fries with your Cyberwings? :D
nvphone 07-31-2002, 12:03 AM Getting real old.............
Back to the top................
FDrive 07-31-2002, 12:03 AM What amuses me most about the Cyberwings posts is that these days, half of them are about there being too many Cyberwings posts...
fidelityhost 07-31-2002, 12:05 AM It looks like its all one guy bringing back a load of old threads...
Chicken 07-31-2002, 12:55 AM Yes, errrrrm, it isn't helpful to post about there being too many posts, however I've removed many posts by one member which just contained the same URL to a site with little info anyhow. Hopefully that tossed some back to the depths in which they came from.
The only think I find anoying is people saying that "enough with the cyberwings threads". There are a few threads that, yes, should be removed, as they are pointless. The thing is, this is a public forum, a.k.a. WebHostingTalk! People have every right to come here and talk about there experience / trouble, especially if the problem is not yet resolved! This isn't the place to resolve these sorts of issues, but im sure it is or will be appreciated at some point in the future when someone comes a searchin for info on cyberwings. If you don't like it, find a new forum or just ignore it!
MadSkilage 07-31-2002, 01:38 AM Haze - I'm sorry I've annoyed you :(
I don't have a problem with people posting legitimate complaints regarding deadbeat hosts, I simply am annoyed by the fact that many of the cyberwings threads belong as replies to others and not completely new topics. Although you are completely right that many of these threads will serve to inform people about cyberwings, the clutter also serves to divert attention from other important topics that could be discussed. One of the nice things about a forum is the usually wide variety of topics posted at any given moment.
If you don't like it, find a new forum or just ignore it!
Since Chicken has dealt with a couple of the threads, I guess I'll survive for now. If not, I'll always have my Hot Deals @ Anandtech (http://forums.anandtech.com/categories.cfm?catid=40) ;)
phpcoder 07-31-2002, 02:13 AM What if... each hosting company can apply to get their own thread in a forum? That way users can post feedback about that host there?

They get more threads and replies then some of the big hosts on this forum and they have 10's of thousands of clients
Samuel 07-31-2002, 06:54 AM Just merge all the cyberwings threads, they all say the same thing.
