Dream On!! :) I'm not selling it, I'm only asking how much you think a distributor will sell it for. I've seen it for about $689 something.

And what parts are you using? Where are you getting your parts? Share some light on the subject and safe us all some money. You can build me that server listed for $350 then we may need to talk!!

Maybe white box... But not 1 U server I think. For just case alone, I think it would cost you around $150-200.

If someone has a line on a 1U rackmount case for a price that lets them build the above system for $350, I want details as well! :)

www.ebay.com for case
www.newegg.com for everything else :D

Accunett, I don't think so! Even the prices at that site will make me think this server can't be build for $350. No WAY. The hard drive alone will cost you about $100 or a little less. It's impossible to build the above system for that price so I'll think the price of $680 is a fair price. Not to mention cost of labor.

On that site you can get the hard drive (40 gig 7200) for 57 dollars. :D

OK, so break the parts down for us and place prices by them and let's see where you get to. I'm just curious to see this $350 price tag that you gave.

I don't think i815 chipset is worthy for server environment especially since it's only upgradeable to 512MB. Buf if you want to buy cheap rackmount servers, take a look at interpromicro.com's value server (http://interpromicro.com/commerce/product.jsp;jsessionid=l85pquos81?product_id=90000009&czuid=1028082545015) where you can customize the above specs with a taq price of around $515 only whith an extra of a 52x CDROM.

Well cheap or not, I got $664.56 for the server. Pretty close to the listed price
