View Full Version : How do you alleviate fears about your TOS?

I took a look at my Webalizer stats today and noticed something really odd about them. It showed that the second most common exit page after the main page is the page containing my TOS/AUP. Which makes me wonder: how do I alleviate fears potential clients may have about the TOS? Would providing a summary somewhere, with a link to the full TOS, be an appropriate measure to take?

(I took a look at mine and it seemed reasonable, but maybe it's too restrictive and scary for most people)

Thanks!

Most web host sites aren't that big, so there aren't a lot of places to be an exit page. And just because it is an exit page doesn't mean it is scaring anyone away. Could be just bots or something, randomly crawling your site. One thing is for sure... you don't want a weak TOS/AUP.

You can see some pretty harsh ones on some hosts, but for the most part, as long as you aren't doing anything bad/illegal, a customer would have nothing to worry about. If someone is scared by it, maybe they're doing some questionable business and you are better off without them.

I would say you need your TOS/AUP to reflect your brand.

If your potential clients are being scared away by your TOS/AUP If it was me I wouldn't be too concerned.
