I am designing a site for a company that sells and builds log homes. A bit out of place from the rest of this forum, but I'm just having a hell of a time designing a logo for it and am looking for help. It will need to fit into this website:

(not much content and still some browser-compatibility issues)

The logo should go at the top of the page somewhere (I was going to do it just above the buttons) and needs to be professional, not "cutesy" or whatever. Cost isn't too much of an issue, just please don't try to screw me :D ;) No more than $100, which I would say is pretty generous anyways :stickout The top bar, where it is black/grey, yellow, then black/grey again can be stretched out if necessary to fit a good logo in, and the name of the company is "Northwest Log Structures."

Also, while I'm here, is there a yellow bar on the right-hand side of the screen (next to the scrollbar) in IE6 for anyone else? It is there when I initially visit the page, but I refresh and it's gone, maybe I just need to clear my cache.

P.S. I am using I.E. 6 and I don't see any yellow bar you mentioned.

I do not see a yellow bar on the right side of the screen in IE6,

1. Would you like logos submitted in the thread?

2. Do you have any slogan you would like included?

3. Just to clarify, you would consider resizing the stripes in the header to accomodate the logo?

4. Is there a cutoff date for submissions?

5. Do you have any specific color preferences for the logo?

All right, good thing about the yellow bar, just means I need to clear my cache - Thank God, because I've been screwing with the damn HTML trying to figure out where I went wrong, even though I guess there isn't really a problem :stickout

Now...

1. Either way, though it would be nice to see what people can do, either a portfolio or some attempts at making the logo, doesn't matter too much.

2. Nope.

3. Yes, I said in my post that they can be made larger if necessary, they are just that way now because it looks very plain - even worse when I make them larger, since there is no logo.

4. Not really, I need the money I'm making off the site by August 9th, so anytime before then.

5. Not really, just no bright oranges or something that will make it look like hell with the rest of the site ;)
