One of our clients is having problems with their Entropy Banner. They have uploaded an image in the /public_html/entropybanner directory, and put the following code in an shtml file:

<!--#exec cmd="/usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/entropybanner.cgi username"-->

However, when you visit that shtml file through a web browser, all you get is a blank page. Is there something else that must be done?

The server is set up to parse .shtml files correctly.

Hmm... May be entropy banner does not work :eek: Has anyone actually used it? :rolleyes:

The problem was with SuExec. Because the entropybanner.cgi was owned by root, and not the user running it, it would not execute. Makes me wonder what the point of SuExec is on CPanel servers.

I had this same problem when I changed servers. SuExec killed entropybanner. I have thought about trying another banner script, but haven't gotten around to it. If banners are important to them it is worth a shot though.

I also am having problems understanding the instructions to the entropy banner system on cPanel.

Is the banner merely an image (jpg or gif)? So, how do you attach a link to that image? I don't understand how it works at all and from all the instructions I've found on the web...it all says the same thing....Anyone have more detailed instructions about how to attach a specific link to each image?

I followed the instructions, but the image doesn't show up, and when I go to the modify section it only shows a square with an X.

When you modify the roatation, you can add a link.
