One proud grandpaw here. I set up web camera (old Zenith VHS-C) to view grandchild while napping. Using "Yet Another Web CAM" software for the streaming video. Works great - but, one corporate family member could not connect to a unique_ip_address:8081. So, I built a simple html page with an iFrame insert using the unique_ip_address:8081, and they can see it. Using DU Meter, I see about 75.0kB/sec for an upload rate...

But, how much "bandwidth" am I using?
Is my cable company going to be upset with me?
Is my web hosting account going to run out of usage...

For the end user, do they have a potential problem with excessive bandwidth usage?

This will use a lot of bandwidth and you might want to be careful streaming video through your hosting provider as this may not be allowed.

Similar for your isp, they could get a little grumpy if you are running it for hours at a time as it will use a lot of bandwidth, especially with all this fair use crap they attach the the accounts you could find yourself being capped on speed.

if you want to stream video i would advise using something like stickam or ustream.tv (ustream are better) where you can easily setup a webcam and broadcast it on the web, privately or publicly for free! you can then inbed the flash video player into your website or give people at link to it on their websites.

hope this helps a little.
