Im still in the need for a program or programs that will allow me to manage multiple linux servers from one user interface...

If no one on this board knows how this can be done could some one please tell me in what direction to look? Could something like that be programmed or something?

(well anything can be programmed , but i mean within reason)

Thanks...

Take a look a hsphere from www.psoft.net. It is a multi-server control panel.

If you have the money (in the thousands), Ensim's serverXchange is also an option.

If your budget is small, webmin's cluster module (at least from what I can tell) allows you to manage multiple servers.

My server is pre-loaded with cpanel for a slight additional charge.. would it be worth it to get h-sphere or would it be better to keep cpanel and deal with managing multiple servers the old fashioned way.. im not sure how cpanel and h-sphere stack up, if it doesnt come standard and free i havent tried it.. lol

Cpanel isn't free; it is billed by recurring monthly fee.

H-sphere, on the other hand, is only a one time fee of $4.5 (maybe even cheaper if you get from a reseller). If you buy it seperate, you can also bring the license everywhere you go. (compared to being tied in with your server provider with cpanel).

Check out the web site and browse the forum for more information on both products. I personally think h-sphere is a better deal, but you need to research for yourself to find out.

You should post a request in the Ad forum, not in the main forum. Otherwise you may miss some of them.

ACK! Does hsphere require me to have 7 servers for it to run properly or is that just a suggested configuration???

I have no need for a separate mail server right now,, is all that neccessary??

No, you can have as many servers as you want too, from one to ....

You can match and merge services. Like you can put on the same server CP, mail & dns, and wel + second dns + mysql on the second one, postgres + web on the third one.... it is all up to you.

PSA 5.0 Master is out and it seems like it can handle multiple machines from one interface quite well.

Hi!
Actually, it should not be a big deal handling servers indivdually. We have seen clients with over 30 servers running it smoothly.
H-sphere, Plesk etc. are good and I would recommend it.
Cpanel has a huge preference over the others from the end users point of view which is the reason many companies use cpanel....

Clustering is not the most important things to take a look at in my opinion.

Have a great day :)
