I've read a lot of different opinions on these forums re: payment processors, merchant accounts, etc. I currently use Paypal because I get good rates (I process a lot of transactions monthly) but I have been very unsatisfied with their support and am evaluating alternatives.

Two options that seem to come up a lot: Google Checkout and CDG Commerce.

Google Checkout definitely seems more oriented toward consumers. But they provide good rates and, at the amount I spend on AdWords, I'd qualify to have all my transactions processed without a fee. They provide an API but does anyone have experience using them in an environment without a shopping cart? I don't have a shopping cart on my site and am reluctant to implement a system that other businesses have not used with success.

CDG is another that gets great customer reviews and definitely an option. CDG, can you please private message me? I have more questions for you.

What are you selling?

I am not "selling" anything as in retail. I run an online marketplace and take a fee from each transaction that occurs in the marketplace.
