Anyone have any comments on http://www.top5hosting.com ?

Their plans are pretty inexpensive, and the reseller plans look great, but I wanted to hear from anyone that has tried them.

I did do a search of this board, and there are no real comments.

Did note two things that concerned me, but not much of a problem:
1) They say "Unlimited Transfers" and have a little cravaet about that there is an unstated limited. An email to them was responded to quickly that it is actually a 1 GB limit, and a higher limit would require a dedicated IP at $6/Month.
2) No 'real' contact info on the site (telephone, physical address, etc). That doesn't really bother me either, since I can track that down through my 9-5 job (Private Investigator).

So if anyone has comments on them, I would appreciate them.

Steelsun,

One thing to note. They say that if you go over 1 gig it will only be $6/month. I would make sure this is written in stone. Make sure you ask for there terms of service because they might have the right to terminate your account.

Good luck.

I dun like there site one bit. I couldnt find a TOS or any such thing.

There Order form isnt secure either. I would be very very wary of them. Try testing there support out.

Another thing I found on there site.

Bandwidth unlimited*

*We do not charge for bandwidth. If a clients is using an unreasonable amount of resources, we will e-mail him and ask to rectify this.

I would just forget about them now. They are plain old liars and I wouldnt trust them with one penny.

I was reseller top5hosting.

Mail aliases like support@yourdomain.com, sales@yourdomain.com, info@yourdomain.com, admin@yourdomain.com stop working when first clients come. All mail what come on this adreses falling to top5hosting admin. I tell him send this maill to me but he even DON'T ANSWER. During 3 days I reseive only one mail from support: "We are doing our best to sort this out asap." What's all he say. Then server fall down and again he tell nothing when he is going to fix it.
There no unlimited bandwith, only 1Gig.

I don't need hosting like it even for free!

If you want have such support - go. I don't.

Thanks for the reply.

From others observations and other checks, I was wary, but an actual former client like you helped me decide to not even try them.

The prices are great, but I guess so are the prices of the watches on that guys arm at the bus station.

I just want to let you know that these guys must have improved tremendously since the last post! I have been hosting with them for more than two years, and I am 100% happy with what I got for my money!

They now register domain names and you get 500mb free web space with every name. I have not seen anything like this anywhere on the web. Some of my friends took this offer, and they are very happy as well.

Why in the world would you pull up a post from 2001 on this company?

I can guess why!
