I am considering adding some advertisements to a website to cover my webhosting costs.

To keep it simple, I am thinking of asking for a flat fee for one year of ad placement, probably placing clickable images on a static page (not rotating banner ads).

I am considering placing several ads (6? 9?) on one static page.

Are there standard (image ads) sizes in the advertising world, including banner ad size standards?

100 pixels x 50 pixels, for a made-up example.

If I want to fit six or nine on one webpage, what size would be best?

If banner ads much preferred by the advertisers, how hard is it to set up a banner rotation system on a simple website, with the banner images hosted on the same machine as the website?

Those are some of the standard/most commonly used ad sizes.

468x60 (full banner), 120x60 (mini-banner), and 88x31 (button size) seem to be the most common.

6 to 9 ads? phew...

yes, 6 to 9 ads. it's a small site. 6 at $30 apiece would cover my hosting costs. I am thinking they would all be on one page, the "where-to-buy page". Not on every page. Or maybe rotate them on the home page only. dunno yet.

Right now it's just a picture site. But people looking to buy related products end up at my site.
