View Full Version : Help Needed
PremWebNet 09-11-2007, 11:03 PM Hello all,
My name is Eric, I run a very small company: Premium Web Networks. I am having trouble with people signing up. Perhaps it is that my site doesn't look serious enough. www [dot] premiumwebnetworks [dot] com. I currently get around 100 unique visits/day but am not getting any subscribers. I believe some of the reasons is that, I don't have an online billing system set-up. Can somebody please recommend one to me. Thanks for reading this,
Eric
The Stealthy One 09-12-2007, 07:54 AM Hi Eric,
It's nice to see you're being open-minded about making changes. :) I like that a lot. Most folks who post here are not!
I think your Website design could definitely be hobbling you. Switching to a white background would probably make your site look immensely better. I don't mind the color scheme now, but I imagine it is hard to see for some folks.
How are you currently billing customers?
24x7group 09-12-2007, 08:18 AM We are using modernbill as billing system / order form. It does cost money but you can do so much with it :)
UH-Bobby 09-12-2007, 09:08 AM I like your current theme, but I would have to agree with The Stealthy One, I would do a white background. I read in a webdesign book, that white backgrounds or off-white is a more professional color.
The Stealthy One 09-12-2007, 12:35 PM Eric, so what did you mean when you said you didn't have an online billing system? I am a bit confused now! (Don't worry - it happens to me very easily - a lot! :P)
PremWebNet 09-12-2007, 02:32 PM Stealthy, I am in need of a billing system like WHMCS or ClientExec
Fizzadar 09-12-2007, 02:36 PM I recommend WHMCS, we use it (will be anyway) and LOVE it. It really is the perfect system in my opinion. Some people have complained about the support staff, but they have been great for us (only 1 ticket which was our fault). I've also used ClientExec and hate it and also WHMAP which I also hated :D
Go WHMCS!
ukhostingforyou 09-12-2007, 02:52 PM check out hotscripts.com for some good things you can add or intergrate to your website
The Stealthy One 09-12-2007, 02:55 PM Ah, Ok, I see. Have you looked into phpcoin at all? I used it a few years ago, so to be honest, I don't remember much about it. But it might give you what you need.
PremWebNet 09-12-2007, 03:44 PM I think that I am going to go with Whmcs. I am working on a redesign right now:

The Stealthy One 09-12-2007, 05:47 PM ^^ That would definitely be a much better design to go with. :)
dhcart 09-12-2007, 06:13 PM The commercial web sites generally don't use black background. Change your template(look at design offers page of WHM at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=56). Also I recommend you to integrate your order form into your web page layout. Your prices is not bad.
JohnJ 09-12-2007, 07:43 PM That specific template looked much better on display at TemplateMonster. But anyways, I would change the background to a dark shade of gray and I would use a different font. From what I can see, you have a few different fonts.
HostThree 09-12-2007, 09:08 PM I'm going to be honest with you about some things I have noticed. These are just small things, but I believe with these changes you will look much better.
The first thing I noticed was the poor sentence structure. Most of the content requires a few read overs just to understand exactly what it means. I believe you should try and re-write your content and then get someone to proof read it to ensure it reads well for them.
Your 2,000mb webspace package says "2,00mb" instead of "2,000mb"
The website all together looks as if you have put different parts of different websites together to get this one, by this I mean you have images that don't fit the tables, links at the bottom of the page that you can't see nor click and your font is rough around the edges.
I would advise you think about getting some sort of a "contact us" page. It's pretty hard to find an email address to contact sales, or support or abuse... it's just all over the place. If you get a dedicated page that lays out all the communication ways then that would be much better!
Your About Us Page could be worked on... I would advice you putting some information about the company, rather than just it's products. Tell us where you are based, when you opened, what you offer your customers etc
I'm not trying to be picky or nasty, but I honestly think these are areas that you could look into to improve your appearence.
varihost 09-19-2007, 12:27 PM Hi,
I agree with the last post 'scott'. Although you would benefit from a re-design in general, its the small things that count. I've spent so many hours working on parts of our site, adjustng layout, graphics, wording, chceking everything again and again. Even test and try different workding and messages . There are so many tools to test these things now that its worth getting into.
Once you've done it, never stop ! Add more pages, more info, details, articles. It all goes towards getting that customer to commit and convert.
Then advertise and get more qualified visitors to your site (AdWords) try it for a month and look at the results, where did they leave, improve on it. Its a difficult thing, selling online and hosting is the toughest area to do it.
Good luck.
MPDon 09-19-2007, 01:56 PM Don't use ordinary links like you have up time. Use images, rather. Links like you have make your site look undeveloped.
Nessy 09-20-2007, 12:43 PM I would recommend WHMCS its a great product
