GsAlliance 07-27-2002, 10:35 PM I use ettec. Derek is excelent with support and is willing to spend time with you if you dont know what your doing. I give them 10/10 stars. You dont get as much transfer as if you went with someone like rack shack but you do get good support and friendly people that are always willing to answer your questions and help you. =D www.etecc.net check em out if your in the market
DotComster 07-28-2002, 04:53 AM www.DialTone.net - very reliable and supper support.
www.VenturesOnline.com - my newbe customers favorite.
Those two I can recomend from years of experiance.
CI - - - host - still very much hated by most - by some of my best geek customers love them -I Don't recomend them unless you can do without their "support".
www.RackShack.com - many problems, still trying them out. There offers are great and worth being patient with.
I few others I can mention - bt I'm not into flameing anyone.
I was looking more for like $99-$150/month dedicated hosting providers. So far dv2 is on my mind. Unless some more people post there reviews.
edude 07-28-2002, 05:58 AM www.staminus.net :agree:

grandad 07-28-2002, 07:38 AM http://www.pronicsolutions.com
yakov 07-28-2002, 01:38 PM nocster.com (http://www.nocster.com)
CPanel/WHM for only $19.95/mo
great service and support!
Any others? looking for something that compares to rackshack.net plans... :/
We've got servers with: webreseller.net, rackshack.net, and pwebtech.com
All of which have been fairly reliable.
NexDog 07-29-2002, 09:05 AM $100 a month is going to buy you nothing but problems. we use rackspace.com and it costs around $500/mo with all the trimmings and they rock. :)

not always true
i pay $100/mo for some servers, i have had no problems :)
mwatkins 07-29-2002, 02:14 PM For less than 500$ per month you can lease or amortize your own boxes and co-locate. A little more trouble to set up, but worth it in the long run. Just find a good co-location partner.
porcupine 07-29-2002, 02:29 PM most providers will provide decent solutions inthe 75-225/mo range, 500/mo is overkill for most

sorry Myles for borrowing your words, I agree with you...I just wanted to add one more "decent" in your phrase. This way looks better.
FDrive 07-29-2002, 04:41 PM Try looking in to fastservers.net... haven't used them (yet ;)) but I've heard only good things about them on this forum... I think they're in your price range too.
They're in the HE datacenter in California, so speeds to Australia, etc, are very good.
driverdave 07-29-2002, 06:04 PM I pay $100/month for my servers and have no problems.
Problems hapen everywhere, it doesn't matter if you are paying 1 or 5 hundred dollars. I would hope the problems get fixed VERY quickly if you are paying 5 hundred, though. That may be worth it to some.
Samuel 07-29-2002, 06:05 PM My provider is a server parts store in Fremont California.
