I have been with Namecheap for 5 years now and I dread trying to move all my domains but things have gotten very strange. Taking 2-3 days instead of 10 Mins to 24 hours to change over, errors when trying to register domains, getting charged twice because of errors, url redirections working one day but not the next. I know these are all little things but being use to top notch service for 5 years has spoiled me a bit. Over the last 6 months things just seem to be sort of 'breaking' all the time.

Has anyone else been having any problems at all? I am way north so it could simply be my location that is causing the problems.

Any input would be much appreciated.

I haven't noticed anything out of the norm. I hope you reported these things to them when they happened.

I am unable to get my EPP code for a domain I want to transfer out, I've been too busy to email them yet about it, not a big deal so far.
Also I notice some errors in searching for available domains, some tld's will not show as taken or avail, but rather as 'error.'

Otherwise everything is fine.

This was posted on another newsgroup and I am relieved but concerned at the same time.

------------------------------------------------------

I've had problems lately with domains not resolving to the correct server for a day or two but it isn't namecheap - it is the DNS servers on my ISP.
Time Warner swapped territories with Comcast and since Comcast came in I have noticed that the DNS is not refreshed as quickly. I'll probably change over to another company's DNS servers like I did in the early days of Time
Warner.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The last time something like this happened I had to make sure anyone I hosted with was on the west side of the Mississippi. And at this time all my hosts are on the east cost.

So just a head's up.

NameCheap is an Enom reseller. Perhaps you are experiencing Enom problems not NameCheap problems.

I just ordered a domain there - was fine.

No, I am not saying that Namecheap is going 'worse'. I am saying they are caught in the middle of this huge change over between Time/Warner and Comcast. So things are taking a lot longer to work there way thru the internet. (or as Techno pointed out) Enom is caught in the middle.

Yes, I did have a few problems like you said with my domains at namecheap. I couldn't get the EPP code, the existing nameservers, and changing the DNS. All sorts of problems lately.
However, everything is sorted now. I have to commend namecheap for their quick and friendly email support. If something like that happenned with GoDaddy, I wouldn't know where to ask... support over there is simply non-existent.

That said, I think most registrars (with a couple of exceptions) have an absolutely terrible record of support. I dread to think what would happen if say Namecheap (being a reseller) experience these problems on a regular basis? I don't see any other reliable registrar on the market.
