lol! Hi everyone. I'm probably the most extreme newbie around. I know a little less than nothing.
Anyway thanks for all the info here! I feel like I've graduated to knowing a tiny, tiny bit now:)
As background I just need a site. I will be in business, it's a graphic, digital design business and I'm sure I don't need a ton of bells or whistles.
I really just have 1 question for now. I am probably going to go with Hostgator as they meet my needs for price, monthly billing, being able to use PayPal to pay for them, free set-up and a coupon for the 1st month to boot! If they weren't with the BBB with a decent rating I probably wouldn't choose them based on some things I've read but....I'm most concerned about being on a "shared" plan though. What exactly does that mean?
If they host adult content sites, which I think I read they do, does it mean that my site can be tied in any way to the adult sites out there? I DO NOT want that as I will be offering a very family oriented service/business!
Oh! I just thought of another question that I can't seem to find the answer to. What exactly are people talking about when they say hosting places are blacklisted? I hope I asked that correctly. I've read so much info. the past few days that I"m beginning to wonder just what I've actually read!
TIA for helping this very confused newbie!
