Hi All,

I've removed my cell phone number from the "pager" field in cPanel's basic configuration, I disabled Pager alerts in the contact manager and restarted cpanel but it's still sending alerts to this cell phone number.

It's a big problem for me right now because spamd has been failing every few minutes for 8 hours, this cell phoe number no longer exist and I'm getting "Undeliverable" bounce backs all the time. The problem is that if I don't put a stop to it the cell phone company will have me marked as a spam server sooner or later.

I need to know where this number is stored so I can remove it. I even tried entering a different cell phone number in whm's basic configuration but it's still trying to send to the old one.

Edit the following file:

/etc/wwwacct.conf

CONTACTPAGER "PAGER NUMBER HERE"

Just remove the line above within wwwacct.conf and that should fix the problem you are having.

Thanks, I'll post back to say if it worked or not.

Now I have to figure out what's wrong with spamd

Why not hire someone to manage your server? Try PlatinumServerManagement.com they are pretty good. I also know Peerlessmachines.com manages servers as well. Both are great companies. I know PSM has been in business for over 7 years, so thats a plus.

Because it adds to the cost of running my business ;). 99% of the time everything runs fine and I have no issues that I can't fix myself easily. The only problems I ever had is with spamd that starts failing like that once in a while, usually right after cpanels daily updates.

I could buy full management from my host (SolarVPS) but I think it would be a waste of money since I don't often have things that need to be managed.

Its not just 99% of the time everything runs fine, what about regular security patches, keeping all the components fine tuned etc. If you are not real good at server administration you should really think about hiring a management company like PSM. It will save you lot of trouble, time & money in the long run.
