i have a domain registered with jatol. Now , i think most of you are aware about the current situation with jatol. Now I would like to transfer the domain with another registrar, however, I need an auth code from the previous registrar. Now jatol aint replying to any emails.

Any suggestions what I can do?

thanks!

Welcome to WHT!

I must have missed something - what happened to Jatol? Although I am not sure I ever heard of them.

Do you have a domain management control panel there that you can access? The code is usually found in the section where you fill in the contact names, addresses, etc. Most registrars place it at the bottom of these pages. ENOM for a fact does.

Good luck!

If you can prove you are the legitamate owner of the domain name, go to whatever new registrar you are going to use and explain the situation to them. Ask them what you need to do to get your domain(s) out of the defunct registrar.

You will need to contact the domain registrar, tell them what is happening and try and regain control of your domain. It might be quite a difficult process so I would prepare yourself for the chance that you will not get your domain back.

what is the domain name?...are the admin details match that of yours?...can you prove anyway that you are the Domain holder?...if yes then you can definitely transfer the domain and regarding autho code you can directly contact your registrar and check for the Domain CP , if you dont have with you.

I think if you search google , you will find better registrars , offering domain transfer @ $6.49 or even lower...check out.

All the Best !

GoDaddy could be a good place to check out for domains. They have a 6.95 special every now and then. I've never used them before, but a friend of mine uses them constantly, and he hasn't had any issues. I've used wild west domains, and I think godaddy is a reseller of wild west or vice versa. Either way, they definitely have an affiliation.

This is really a frustrating situation, that one cannot use his own domain. How long you have been with them?

Jatol was probably a registrars's reseller. Do a whois on your domain (http://whois.domaintools.com) and look for the ICANN registrar. Contact that company for assistance.

I am in the same Situation as are alot of Jatol's ex-Customers. The registrar Jatol used is: onlinenic.com

I have a request for an authorization code in for them. I am going to give them 24 hours and then start to really bother them until I get my domains.

Simply tell them of the situation, point them to the thread about Jatol closing down, and cross your fingers.
