Hi,

Anyone suffered some catastrophic failure with WHMCS?

For example, corrupt database and loss of all customer and account information.

Would you trust your livelihood to WHMCS?

Thanks.

In all fairness, just backup the database every so often, occasionally if you don't run it properly you can have errors with upgrading, which has happened once. In all fairness, I don't really like the software any more, due to the people behind it, when it was a one arm bandit (ie matt on his own) the whole company was much friendlier.

This could happen to any billing software and thats why you should always backup your database on a daily basis.

cws,

Backup frequently, I recommend at minimum nightly if not more often.
Do I trust WHMCS as a whole -- no, I don't but the developer (Matt) is exceptional & has proven himself time & time again.

Sticking with them right now is an act of faith, but so far-so-good :)

Please share experiences of why you wouldnt trust some of the other employees. Matt should definitely be aware of this as he definitely doesnt want staff members to tarnish all of is hard work.

Backups are definitely mandatory for any data that you truly depend on.

Nothing to do with staff either, I find it hard to trust any closed source software :)

Backup daily and then if it goes wrong you at least have something you can restore

Hi,

I did not mean to imply that there was something wrong with WHMCS. It looks functional and efficient.

There are bugs in all software and I was just wondering if regular backups were sufficient. I think I have my answer. Thanks.

Basically there is nothing wrong with the employees although they aren't as friendly or as willing to help as Matt, personally the communication I've had with them isn't the same. I have trust in the software although I would prefer something different.

WHMCS is reliable. Keep a daily backup and you'll be secure.

Can you PM me the Ticket #'s or email you used to submit those tickets so I can look into the responses you've got. I've checked your account and there's only 4 tickets submitted from your registered address and all have been dealt with by me personally.

There's no reason to have any distrust in WHMCS - there have not been any occurences of data being lost due to a WHMCS error yet.

All of the questions and support you've provided me Matt is perfectly fine, a while back, just after changing to the newer website design I was having a slight problem navigating (don't ask) and I remember talking to a live chat member (not Matt) regarding finding an item on your site, the answer I received was insulting or offensive, just not friendly. I have nothing against the software or yourself as you really helped myself setting the system up at the start whilst kept me updated with various items :)
