I've emailed the ad email address on the bottom of the site and no reply for 4 days now. Ok, I really didn't expect a reply, but how does one go about buying those sticky positions in the ad forum? I saw a thread about this but it's gone.

Bob -- Send an email to Michelle Marsh at Michellem@ev1.net. She's in charge of the sticky ads I believe (at least she was).

I hate to revive an old (1 month) thread but just wondering everyones position on these sticky's.
I find I just skim over the top two threads now, I ignore them completely - what do others do?

Dave,
I also just skim over the top two ads. I might read them once in a while but usually it is because I forget they are ads and think they are an announcement for the forums or something.

IMO, we should get rid of paid advertising altogother....
...Sure the top banner was ok when it was Matt by himself, but now WHT isi owned by probably one of the largest grossing companies in the industry...they should be able to afford it without the ads
but to answer your question, I skip them also

largest grossing companies in the industry...
Key point, I wonder what net profits are like? Is this model sustainable, i.e., saturating the market with cheap servers and bandwidth? Any revenue they can generate helps their balance sheet.
