Hello, thanks for reading my post...
I have a Diamond Viper II 32mb video card...
Windows XP does not have a driver for it, and Windows ME doesn't recognize it...
I searched around for drivers for it, but I could not find it..
I got this card off an auction, it seems to work fine as I am using it right now, but it is seriously hindered without its drivers...
Does anyone out there have the same card, or know of something I can do?
Thanks for your time!
Mike.

http://www.diamondmm.com/support/diamond/default.asp?menu=support&submenu=Legacy_Graphics&item=drivers&product=Viper_II
???
Or try driverguide.com, click on th member login link, the username is "drivers" and the password is "all" - search for the card there. Windrivers.com use to be good, but now they are a pay site. Maybe try the Windows 2000 driver since there isn't one for XP? Not going to hurt anything, I think they are pretty much the same OS only XP is a bit sugar coated.

ok, turns out the Win2000 driver didn't work......
The Windows 2000 drivers installed fine and worked, but I was only able to run at 640x480 in 4bit color and I lost my TV out....
I am totally lost and I can't get anything to work... I will
I looked through driverguide.com before, but I guess I didn't look very hard...
I have now downloaded a winxp driver from the version 2 beta search on driverguide.com, looks like this will work! :)
Thanks again.

Ok, I tried both of the so called Windows XP drivers from driverguide.com's user submitted drivers... One wouldn't install because it said it wasn't intended for this operating system, and the other was just the Windows 2000 drivers and doesn't display properly, (although this one is better and has TV out)
Sigh... Back to square one...
Try this site: http://www.savagenews.com/drivers/s3/savage2000.html
They list a few entries for XP.

Or possibly here: http://www.3dnews.ru/download/drivers/s3/savage2000/

I still can't find the right drivers... :(
I assume the S3 Savage 2000 must use the same drivers as the Diamond Viper II...?
Does anyone know of a driver for the Viper II that does work with Windows XP properly?

Had the same problem with the Wife's computer, that video card you got off auction is a peice of crap, always has been.
It's the Viper Ultra 770 in other realms and unfortunately the lower version, Viper 770 is very compatible with XP and 2000, save your time and headaches and get a new vid card.... trust me =)

Thanks for all your help everyone...
After some fiddling around I managed to get the XP driver to install and everything works perfectly!

Just in case it ever dies:
http://www.driverguide.com has just about every driver known to man. I'm forever finding drivers for clients who have 5-to-10-year-old scanners and printers and other things. (I don't know why they don't just get new stuff but then...I guess that's why I'm only the guy who takes their money. :)
