WHT has been very slow for me all day and it doesn't seem to be any DNS related issue on my side. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm browsing around this forum ........ painfully slowly........ feeling like we are all tip-toeing around the Big Pink Elephant in the middle of the room.

WHY IS THIS BOARD RUNNING SO SLOWLY???

Monday 8/27/07 it was so bad, the pages wouldn't load at all. I wasn't able to get a page to load here until Monday night (USA, Central time zone).

Now today, Thursday 8/30/07, every page load is taking 15-30 seconds, and posting a "report" or a reply is taking 1-4 minutes. It was this way when I first logged on around 2 PM Central, and it is still doing it now (6:55 PM Central).

I know it's not my internet connection, because the rest of the internet is smokin' fast -- including the boards I run. ;) So it's got to be a WHT thing.

Am I the only one struck by the irony of a web hosting forum that is running slower than molasses in January?? LOL...

So, anybody know? What's going on, and when is it going to be fixed????? :)

Anybody? Bueller??? :D

Yep, experiencing the same thing from my end. it's only WHT, I've tried a couple of other websites and they load fast as usual.

I heard Dennis knocked off one of the MySQL load balancers, working on some slick dancing moves.

WHT is long overdue for a hardware upgrade it's running on servers that are 3-4 years old. At least that's by my estimate could be longer but I doubt it's shorter.

Again swapping out hardware, and probably in multiple instances software can be daunting and time consuming.

It seems to be working fine for me. Perhaps too many people were on at one time.

Thanks for moving my post to the proper place. I didn't even realize this section was here. Sorry I posted in the Lounge, it was the best place I could think of. Now I know better! :)

BTW, it's back to normal for me now too. :)

I would bet its http floods and dos that gets through their router. Id like to see them try litespeed like they said they might in this thread (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showpost.php?p=4581025&postcount=15)

Yep, back to normal speed here... I guess no matter what hardware or connections you've got, slowness still occurs sometimes ey?
