Hi.

I've been tracking site visitors for a while now and I think I have a problem, but thought I'd run it by you guys to see if you agree.

I had assumed when people went to akashik.net they would go a different direction that they do. As it stands they enter the site and either go straight to the demo control panel which is fine, or more often just poke 'hosting' straight away. Currently this leads straight to the order form with the plan/price listings.

What this means is there is a total bypass of the 'about', 'plan comparison' and even 'specials' page. Essentially most things that sell the site before the order form. My idea is to alter it so hosting leads to a generalized service description page which leads out to the other areas, at which point they will be lead back to the order form after they've learnt a bit about akashik.net. Of course there will be a straight link from the front page named order as well.

The two trains of thought on this are:
1. potential customers can go straight to the order form, saving time. They see price and plan, pick one, and sign up (current format)
2. potential customer should have more information presented to them directly (as opposed to having to search sideways for it), by placing a page without a direct link to the order form. They read about akashik.net by having it fed to them directly.

So as you see it's a speed of signup Vs a chance to explain our services more fully decision.

Any ideas, comments? I'm looking at both a hosts point of view as well as an end user.

Heya.

When I was looking for hosting website, I usually went for plans section. I see (usually) how much the plans are frist then see what they offer with the plan. I almost never go to order page until I am sure I will like this host. so I think No, 1 is not a good idea for me.

For no.2 , It's good but I would like to comment on it. let the "order now" images or similar on there. When a visitor clicks the image, let it go to ToS page. You know rest. Put two buttons agree or don't agree. Agree will take the furture customer to order page. Don't agree will take the blah visitor to.. well it's your choice ;)

Hmm. Um well. :fairy:

klisis,

Thanks. I generally assumed people would go the same direction you mentioned. I suppose the navigation doesn't lend it self to that as a direct line though. The TOS idea isn't bad - I'll have to look at that.

BTW, looked at your site. I liked it. You need something more on Akira, Ninja Scrolls, and Neon Genesis though. I could site and watch those three all day long. I wish I had some images lying around, so I could upload them. :)

hehe . It's nice to know that you have some knowledge in Anime. I spent my teenages there(Japan). For you(America) people may like those but I am not. They aren't that much popular in inside of Japan. There are much better ones out there to 'read'. Though to get more visitors, I should put some of those though... ;) Anime market is very much limited here..(America)
