View Full Version : Situation about domains. Panel has it an administrator but I'm admin contact etc

Hello!
Ive got this situation
Time ago I bought this domain to a hosting company and they gave me access to the control panel but when the owners sold the hosting company to a new people, all the sudden I no longer have access to it even tho on whois I'm still there as administrative/tech/billing contact.

The thing is that I need to renew the domain but I don't have access to it, I've contact the domain site and they keep telling me that I should contact the main administrator of the account, which I did but i get no response, which leaves me..doing nothing.

Doesn't the fact I'm the current registrant (and administrative, billing & technical) mean ANYTHING to them? I'm loosing a domain because of that 3rd person who won't reply my emails

What can i do here? I can't even make the trasnfer due the Auth Code.

oh and btw, im talking about hostway
they got this phone number 1.866.467.8929
but Im' outside of the use, what should I do (i'm talking about any other number i need to add in order to call )

To dial the US number you mentioned you just put the international access code in front of it. The number already includes the US country code (1). From the UK I would dial 00 to get an international line.

As for the actual problem - domain name registrars should have a procedure for removing domains from reseller accounts in cases such as yours. If you are down as registrant it's your domain and they must accept instructions from you to move it into another account. Procedures vary from registrar to registrar but all registrars are supposed to have such procedures.

I've been trying to call them but line seems to be busy.
What they told me is that for "security" reasons they need 2 information, last 2 digits of the credit card and the security question, i've got only the first one and the second one NOT because obviously I don't own the account. It seems its the only way for them to help me and its driving me crazy.

liasion?...how relevant is it to know which domain is? :) thank you!

update:

SO here's what I had to do, I called them in USA (not free call i must say..so next month phone billing is gonna be huge). They were very polite , on Technical Support they did their best to help me out on the situation and then I got contacted with Billing so all I could've done was to renew the domain directly via phone and it was a sucessfull renewal even tho I still got no solution on the control panel access.

My main concern was to renew the domain, I'll keep trying to solve the access via email.

PD: You have to wait ALOT on the phone tho in order to get contacted with anyone at hostway.
