Hi, kids -

I've done a bunch of searching here and I'm still having problems finding a host... I'm teaching myself ASP and coldfusion and need a small hosting plan to test scripts and the like...

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced host (under $10, if that's not being unrealistic) with the following features:

- asp and coldfusion
- some kind of database support (preferably MySQL, but any will do)
- 5-10 mbs storage
- around 2 Gs transfer
- ftp access
- good uptime

As I said, this is a self-teaching aid and will probably not end up hosting a "live" site... though that could change in the future. SO, the cheaper the better. :D

thanks,
Neil

Hmmm I dont think Cold fusion recognize's Mysql. As for a cheap hosting Company with this kinda support, good luck. With the Price for licence's for the server,. most companies wont re-sell for cheap.
your best bet, if you want to experiment with Cold fusion is to get a trial and load the server on your home system. There's nothing like bad code to lock up a server.

You won't find an NT host offering Cold Fusion with mySQL, only MS-SQL. If you want Cold Fusion on UNIX with mySQL, then you can find a few hosts. But note FEW hosts.

and not at that price.

That's interesting -

Can you run ColdFusion on Unix? I didn't think that was possible.

Thanks for answering my question - I didn't think finding a coldfusion host cheaply would be easy (that is, besides cfm-resources.com, the quality of which is reflected in the fact that its free)...
