Are there any other tools similar to:

http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ ?

I'm working on SEO of my site and I'm looking for some free stats for keyword searches done using search engines.

Any help appreciated,
Peter

The Overture tool is pretty useful & it's free - it should be really all you need.

For a more detailed tool that costs money (you pay by the week, month etc to use it) -

www.wordtracker.com (http://www.wordtracker.com)

Thanks NovaW,

Is the results showed by Overture suggestion tool only from searches done directly on overture.com or is total from all partner sites?

Thanks,
Peter

Overture's keyword tool includes data from partner sites.

Another place you might want to look is Google; if you set up an Adwords campaign you can research keywords there.

And, regarding Wordtracker, there is a free trial which might get you started. They are a little expensive for full access; we certainly find it worthwhile but are working with a considerable number of sites. I'm not sure if I'd spend the money if I had just one site to deal with.

Google used to have it with their old pay-per-impression setup - but I could never find it with the new select system.

Is it still there? Great news if it is - that was useful.

Poncho - one caution on the results coming back from overture (& google) - the numbers always seem a bit inflated to me vs the reality, but they are useful for selecting your keywords.

Do this step before you buy your domain

they are both very useful tools,
the only shortcoming of the overture tool is that it doesnt differentiate between singular and plural, and this can make a big difference in such a competitive field as SEO. One area where near enough is just not good enough.
