I'm sorry to all of you people who absolutely can't stand Cyberwings topics, but here is another one.

Why would someone (in this case CEO-Shawn) take his time to develop a web hosting business if all he is doing is cheating everyone?? There is a lot of money that must go in to creating a web hosting business. As some of us have concluded, he does not have his own data center, but he at least colocates or has his own dedicated servers. Must of us can't go out and buy 10 dedicated servers or colocate 10 servers (or how ever many he has) and then go and rip off all of our customers. None of us ACTUALLY know what Shawn is doing or has done. So we all must take our best educated guess.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this matter...

I think he made a big mistake thinking he'll run a successful web hosting biz by offering cheap sales and obtaining a good quantity of customers. What he didn't realize were the consequences for such poor business procedures/methods/plans, and now he's suffering them.

In addition, I don't think he ripped-off his customers in the end (not yet), intentionally. He just couldn't keep up with his promises, and now has ruined his reputation and credibility. Sad.

I agree. I don't believe he's a scam artist (although that option seemed pretty likely over the past few weeks). I do, however, think he's a pretty poor business person.

I just can't put up with Shawn's attitude!!! I've never seen such a nasty customer service EVER. Rude, illogical, full of empty promises... you just can't say I'll have the server up by this Sat... and eventually.... nothing happened. AND not offering ANY explanations to your customers about the facts. As a customer of cyberwings, they're expecting you to keep 100% silence on their fault. In their chat-room, none of their staffs will tell you details about the downtime, but chatting on other things ... really just like you're chatting in the AOL chatroom!

I don't mind if i just run a small personal kid sites on it. For REAL, SERIOUS business customers, my humble opinion is stay away from cyberwings.... if the executives of the company act like an irresponsible person.

The thing I don't get is why doesn't Shawn explain what happened. We still don't know. He's talking about "the troubles that we face as service providers", but what are these? What really went wrong? As long as we don't know this, how can he expect us to trust him with our sites? "You're with us or you're not..." pfff

I don't feel there's ever a justified reason for mistreating customers, ever, and my god man, when your so called service has been down for nearly a month and people who PAID for this service are justifiably pissed? You start KICKING and banning them from your support room and making empty threats about your lawyers monitoring the room 24/7 and getting IPs (which are masked by the way at the irc server) and all this crap?

Unbelievable.

I've learned that you cannot set dates for finishing up projects until you know for sure that you have everything setup and it is just a matter of flipping a switch:D ;) . Even then, a problem can occur when you flip the switch ON. Hehe...

It seems to me that the troubles he is referring to are simply caused by not paying his bills to the Data Centers, "his" data centers, I should say.

After watching their chatroom for about 15 minutes. There is no way I would use cyberwings.

It seems psychologists have been unable to fully understand pathological liars, but they have discovered three characteristics that may lead to such a diagnosis.

The stories seem to be too dramatic or unrealistic to be believed, tend to serve no significant purpose except to impress people and the lies can be easily proven to be so.

Such individuals are sometimes described as having an adult's mind with a child's imagination. Some are believed to have learned this behavior as children, as a way to relieve stress for a self-preceived lack of value.

I'm not a medical professional and therefore am not making a medical judgment or psychological assessment. I'm just providing this information for what it's worth.

:D Gordo , you've hit the nail on the head . The term "pathological liar" has been used by me several times in relation to this fiasco . :dunce:
