Does anyone know whether you can use images rather than colours when it comes to editing the appearence of scrollbars with CSS? Any help appreciated,

Cheers.

I believe this can be done with DHTML but only IFrames, not as the normal scrollbar you see to your left.

Well I suppose that would be true if you were the computer looking at the user. :stickout

why would you want to do something like that? it's like those lights that are on windshield wiper water sprayers, bet you that makes your car go faster...

It could probably be done, even resorting to something like Flash and substituting flash scrollbars in place of the default ones.

But, as DjPaj said - you'd have to ask yourself why you would want to do something like that? Colourful scrollbars are becoming too common and in my opinion detract from a site's look.

All they could possibly do is increase load time for the end user which is not a good thing.

It's a novelty/trend that will quickly wear off.

Its quite easy actually.

Hope I will not be misunderstood as advertising here but you can take at our site www.enhost.com/cp/

We use images as scrollbar to make it looks as if you are using Windows XP.
