22GB of my drive goes to Slackare Linux 8 and the other 8GB goes to Windows 2000. My laptop also runs Slackware, only version 7.2, and my office PC runs Windows 2000.

Anyways, don't use ME, it's suppose to be crap (though I'll admit I've never used it myself). Windows XP is more stable, anyway.

OS X at work, OS X Win 2k at home. OS X on my TiBook and Win2K / Open BSD on my other laptop.

I have Win2K on my laptop, one desktop is Win2K, another is dual boot Win2K/RedHat7.3, and another is Win98. Never used ME or XP, but from what I have heard, I would go with XP over ME.

Windows XP - fantastic OS. Nice and reliable as well (in comparison to other Windows) - although make sure you have a decent amount of ram.

This would have been a good poll

Win XP Pro humming along within 1 gig RAM - last reboot was about 2 months ago. So much better than Win 98.

Totally agree.

Go for XP, with plenty of RAM.
On a 256 MB machine, the performance wasn't very good, but more stable that other versions windows. On a 512 MB machine, it is great.

Running XP on two boxes, never had a problem yet. 256 ram seems to do it, although 512+ I would recommend.

I have 1.1ghz w/256mb ram here running XP Pro on my laptop which runs fine... as I mentioned in my previous post - you need a decent amount of ram.

I personally wouldn't like to run Windows XP on anything less than 256mb.

1 box running Win2000, another box running Linux (slackware 8.1), and another box that is currently running Win2000 but will be changed over to running WinXP on one HD and dual booting Linux (Slackware 8.1) on another HD.

If you run Windows ME or 98/95, might I interest you in CP/M ?

I'd take Windows 2000 over all of the other Windows Operating System. OS X looks pretty good, seems more stable than OS 9.
