View Full Version : Buying a 2002 BMW 540i :)
Kaumil 07-25-2002, 10:41 PM Yep :)
I'm getting a Brand new, 2002 BMW 540i next month. The company car! I'm getting the M package. Does anyone have this?
What do ya'll think? Here is a picture of it, I want it in this color anyway:

Love the Internet ;)
mwatkins 07-25-2002, 10:52 PM A high tech bike, the kind without motors, appeals to me more.
But then I'm more of a Volvo - wagon - kinda guy anyway.
NetXL 07-26-2002, 12:40 AM It looks like a rich businessman's car. I tend to prefer the gutsy ones. It is very sleek looking though, must be stupidly expensive..
cedwards 07-26-2002, 12:56 AM Yeah guys im buying a company vechile too.... tell me what you think http://zimmer.csufresno.edu/~cleary/images/tand2.jpg :stickout
Synthetic 07-26-2002, 12:58 AM Nice... :) Have you been saving money for it long?
mindboggle 07-26-2002, 01:22 AM Can I have one too? :D
You aren't able to buy that because of profits from your hosting company, are you...?
21inchguns 07-26-2002, 01:55 AM Looks very nice......
although the only BMW I would ever buy is the M5 or M3.....
skylab 07-26-2002, 03:29 AM or the z3! or i wouldn't mind having an 850
I've always wanted an Audi TT - sooo sooo very nice, but a little out of my range.
fractiousws 07-26-2002, 04:35 AM Blah! None of you know your cars :D
1970 El Camino SS, now that is a car! (see attatched picture)
edude 07-26-2002, 05:23 AM My Mazda RX7 would run circles against your vehcile cededwards..
Fiber 07-26-2002, 08:53 AM Watch everyone switch from HostingPlex to some other host...
My dad may switch jobs in the near future. While he already has a company car, he plans on waiting until he switched to get a Mercedes Benz E320 or a BMW...I say Mercedes, but he likes them both, and so do I.

esdjco 07-26-2002, 09:52 AM Mmmm that car is delicious. I like the M class better though. Go for the blue color. Mmmm!
Kaumil 07-26-2002, 12:26 PM The issue I am having.... My mom does't want to learn how to drive manual... i'm forced to get 540i with M package. Exactly like the M, cept not the engine! :(
TowerHost 07-26-2002, 12:31 PM I agree, that car looks absolutly amazing! Hey cedwards, I think your company car will get better milage :D
lol
The sad thing is, that my company vehicle is close to the one cedwards pointed out. The real difference is that mine has a better paint job :D
RackMy.com 07-27-2002, 12:16 AM The cars look nice but I swear I would never own a BWM again. It was the worst, most unreliable, car I ever owned :( I like my Lexus a whole lot better and is more dependable (if the can ever figure out how to fix my AC :))
I have never been in a M package with one, but IMO I would rather get a E class mercedes or even if you don't mind jumping up in price a little bit a S430-S500 mercedes. I think they drive soooo much better and you really can't beat the options. I got rear ended in our S430 like 2 mos after we got (****ing drunk driver) but it was halarious, the guys enter front of his car was all crunched up and our car had a little hole in the bumper heh... Looks real pimp to it has the mercedes rims but supershined and 5% tint all black. with GPS and all the goodies hehe.. :))
(all this rambling == get a mercedes)

And a friend of mine also had the worst luck with his 535...at least mine was only losing bolts.
edude 07-27-2002, 03:20 AM oh so its your mums car?
XTStrike 07-27-2002, 03:25 AM Quite like my new Peugeot 307 GLX 2 Litre.
Should have it for about 2 years then give it back and get something different, if I can afford a really big expensive car without having to think about how much of my wages its burning away each month then id probably go for a Merc, Lexus or Audi.
BMWs are nice but I just dont think they are quite upto the quality they used to be, but I may be wrong...
OverSkilled 07-27-2002, 04:45 AM Here is the car I will get in about 3-5 years. Hopefully all paid off.

I'd be inclined to agree. The cars are great (once you get used to the back to front seatbelt design :stickout) but can be a pain.
We got rid of our BMW a few years ago. I don't remember the model, but it was about 3 years old when we got rid of it.
Always having problems and the services were so expensive compared to other cars.
