I bought a webfusion starter package and created my own .com through the services and partners of webfusion.co.uk.

First they tell me it may be Begium domains i need to contact to change my name servers...WRONG.

Next they tell me it Clickconsltd ...WRONG

Next they tell me its CapitoldomainsLLC who fail to respond to any emails sent to them, this has been on going since May.

How do i get this resolved if Webfusion.co.uk are also now ignoring my emails?

From what I understand, you registered a domain name but don't know how/where to change the nameservers.

If so, what is the domain name?

if you share the domain name we may be able to find who it was registered through and help you get an email address to contact the company concerned with changing the nameservers on the domain. (If thats what you meant ;) )

Try contacting these guys.

They should be able to help you as it seems the name is under their ICANN Accreditation.

Did your domain expire back in May or earlier? It may be that this new owner snatched it as soon as it became available for registration again. After all, it's a 4 letters domain that could be valuable.

Try contacting these guys.

I can actually see why your host is confused.

capitol domains have dns set to editnameservers.net who are a company of belgiumdomains.com who are a company of capdom who are capitol domains......

Are you sure you still own the domain because it SEEMS they dont do domain registrations.

I've just done a Google search on oxo7.com, and it came up on several expired domain lists back in March.

So, player4... unless you are the person in Nassau Bahamas who registered this domain on 12 May then I'm afraid you've lost it!

Lubeca

Me again... the good news is the person in the Bahamas has a "For Sale" sign up so you may be able to get it back for the right amount of money.

How can it expire when i have only owned it for 3 months. For the opening couple of weeks of that 3 months Webfusion.co.uk whom i bought the package from have directed me to 3 seperate companys to change my name servers.

So it appears to you guys like i have never owned such an address?

What a messy situation this is.

This is not the latest twist - this is what we have been trying to tell you all along (note my reference to a person in the Bahamas in my earlier post).

The person in the Bahamas registered this domain on 12 May. It is his.

I don't know what happened when you tried to register this domain but clearly you did not succeed. Do you have any documentation suggesting otherwise? When exactly did you try to register this domain?

It looks from this end that i got oxo7.com before anybody else, webfusions partner reg123 set me up with oxo7.com, they asked me to pick a name , they then went of and checked to see if it was free, it was, i paid for it there and then, im not 100% possitive but i think i spent around £26, i will look at my bank statements for that period.

"When exactly did you try to register this domain? "

Prior to Pipex in the above email confirming oxo7.com is My domain. So that would be sometime before the 8th of May (the day Pipex appear to think oxo7.com is My domain).

Registering a domain and setting up a hosting package are two entirely separate operations.

When you set up a hosting package you can enter any domain and the hosting company's system will assume it's yours.

This evening I added a friend's domain to my hosting account with Fasthosts. It's his, not mine, and it's registered through 123-reg, not Fasthosts.

The Fasthosts system did NOT say "This isn't your domain, it's not registered here, you can't add it to your account".

The Fasthosts system merely said "To add this domain to your account you must change the nameservers to ns1 and ns2.livedns.co.uk".

I suspect what happened in your case is that you added the domain to your account but didn't actually register it. It may well have been available when you first checked, but you didn't register it so someone else got it instead.

mmm, interesting.:D Lubeca i didnt add i created new, and this board is broken, Haste ye back!

Lubeca

It doesn't make any difference whether you add a domain to an existing hosting account, or whether you create a new hosting account for the domain. Creating a hosting account does not get you the domain. It just gets you a home to put it in. It's like buying an empty box. If you didn't specifically go and register the domain - which is a separate transaction from creating a hosting account - then all you bought is the hosting. Or the empty box.

I agree with lubeca, it looks very much like you bought a hosting package for a domain that already existed but isn't yours.

If pipex/123reg said the domain was available and charged you for it, then they were
( a ) wrong and
( b ) should give you a refund

You need to pick a new *available* domain name, register that, and then talk to webfusion about having your hosting package updated to use the domain that is actually yours.

It's like buying an empty box.

Webfusion.co.uk can sell empty boxes if thats what you want.

They also sell packages i.e Fusion Starter, this includes hosting and registering of the domain which you choose without ever leaving their (webfusion.co.uk) site.

After you have completed the details and made the payment you receive an email with the following....

The following orders have been successfully placed and are awaiting setup: OrderSummaryCost (£)Status1OXO7.com

Thank you for choosing WebFusion for your new account(s).
WebFusion is part of PIPEX, the largest provider of web hosting services in the UK.

We are now in the process of setting up your new account.

£28.12 inc. VAT in total will be debited from your credit card to PIPEX Communications UK Ltd.

It's Amazing on' what an email titled "BBC WATCHDOG Interview Request" can achieve.

Pipex now claim they don't know why they took money from my bank (£28.12) back on the 8th May this year.

So last night just for fun i went through the whole procedure again and set up 0X07.com using the services Again of webfusion.co.uk. The only chan'ge made was the method of payment, this time i payed instantly by credit card.
And low and behold i paid the e'xact same sum as i did back in May.

Pipex are now dragging their heels in respect of the email they need to send me which confirms they have received payment from my credit card, in that email it should contain a description of what i have just paid for. When they did this back in May this area for a "description" was void of any content. How peculiar!

The stress the anguish the torment this has caused, blah blah blah.

Awaiting Pipex's next move.

Seeking legal advice.

Take care for Now ....P4

Oh, For The Record, thanks for your help.

I had 2 years of hell with these crooks, and lost a whole lot of money. I started the domain
http://www.pipex-webfusion-hosteurope-hosting-sucks.co.uk/
It has a Joomla front end, and phpbb forum and a good domain name, and I just don't have the time to run it. If anyone wants to to take the site on for free and do something with it, pm me or contact me via the site.
For fairness and balance, I should point out that other sites are available :)

Now there's irony!

Well, you can call that a review of site5 webhosting, 'cos that's where that domain is hosted, and that's what a lot of my domains look like for too much of the time!

But at least support answer...right after the problem gets fixed, and say "looks OK from here..."
