Hi! <- Newbie ISO help!

1) Does anyone know any sites that provide free site statistics and do not require you to also add some sort of a link and/or graphics as well?

2) Does anyone know how I can get a site to provide me with information regarding downloads? For example: I have three porno movies on my site. I would like to know which one has been downloaded the most times and by whom. Does anyone know how I would accomplish that?

Aye, but phpEE is only in the beta stages; what if it goes down (likely) and my client demands the information? Are there any other similar choices, since phpEE's features are nonetheless excellent?

Why don't just get one of those free site statistics things that requires a graphic and just put it in a layer and make it invisible?

I've never actually tried the layer idea, because one of the requirements of the free site statistics was that the graphic must be visible. I'm not familiar as to whether or not the company actually checks the pages to see if they actually have visible graphic links, so I cannot gauge its risk. If you have more information about such, I would appreciate it.

UPDATE: I JUST CHECKED THE HITOMETER WEBSITE AND THEY WILL NO LONGER BE OFFERING THESE SERVICES AFTER AUGUST 15 - THIS MAY STILL BE HELPFUL FOR SHORT-TERM USES

Hitometer.com has an amazing one. You can either:

1. Use one of their visible counters WITH their name on it
2. Use a visible counter WITHOUT their name on it
3. User an invisible counter

It updates in real time, they dont spam your mailbox, they will send the stats to you daily, weekly, or monthy, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Just a word about them though. When you first sign up you get a basic account. Then when you log into the control panel you can upgrade your counter to the more detailed stats version for free, they just did it so not everyone would automatically get the most detailed information (some people just like plain counters).

If you have access to raw logs AWStats is the best. You can easily install it and customize it on your (virtual) server.
