I'm curious, does anyone know of any companies that offer price matching on an hsphere reseller account?

I'm looking for some more notable (where i can research them easily) hosts, but if you know of some startup or something that is fine to as I will be testing them out for a bit before I actually put my customers on them.

My current host is fine when it comes to support, but they are making some changes that i'm not really happy with, so although they have nice support...their service is slowly deteriorating it seems.

Cartika is an outstanding provider that is highly recommended by many on this board.

I only hoped I spelled it right.

Edit: I did and the link is:

they are almost 4 times higher than what I'm paying now. I'm looking for some companies willing to work with me on price matching, and I believe i've asked them about it before. I'll check with them again though :)

As for wanting a price match, one of the main reasons that another, more expensive host may offer a better overall service is because they do charge more so they have a stronger infrastructure to develop their service. While you may find a host that has a price that is close to what you're currently paying (and they may be willing to match what you're paying), you probably won't be able to get a large discount to match your current price with a reputable H-Sphere provider whose prices may be much higher than you're currently paying.

There are a few reviews about Eirca here at WHT, so if you run a search for them (if you haven't already) you should be able to find a few quick reviews about their services -- most of which I have found to be positive.

Some Hsphere providers are listed here: http://www.psoft.net/resellers.php. Contact them and see if you can strike a deal that fits your expectations. Make sure you do a thorough research before you signup though.

Personally I don't see price matching is an entirely fair thing to expect, nor is it very common in this industry where someone's always willing to sell the moon for a couple of peanuts. :)

I have no clue what you are paying now but providing the host you are interested in is within say 25% of the price you want to pay it may be worth a shot.

However if your current host (Host A) is charging you $3/mo for 100GB diskspace and a terabyte of bandwidth and the other host (Host B) is selling 1GB and 10GB of bandwidth for $3/mo it will probably be a long shot.

Truthfully the only thing i'm really looking for a close match on is the bandwidth, though i've researched a bit on eirca and given them a call...and i'm leaning more and more towards just taking a loss for bandwidth on a few customers to get the overall service they offer...

their end user support looks mighty tasty at the moment to eat up some of the other costs.

Hi Daniel,

I agree, we certainly are not known for our low price points - and honestly, we would NEVER price match. We strongly believe this is a service and would not sell it based on space and bandwidth - there is alot that goes into providing a service and improving a service. For example, we just invested over $100k in our backup solution, $200k in going high availability and load balancing - you simply cannot do these sorts of things when you are competing on price - and honestly, these things hold alot more value to customers then space and bandwidth. I completely agree with the comments from adakist

As for wanting a price match, one of the main reasons that another, more expensive host may offer a better overall service is because they do charge more so they have a stronger infrastructure to develop their service.

Having said this, I think Eirca is a good choice - and you should strongly consider them if they meet your requirements, even if the space and bandwidth offered arent exactly what you are looking for - I would honestly be weary of any company willing to price match and I am almost 100% certain Eirca would not do this...

Best of luck with your search and hopefully you get everything you are looking for whichever direction you decide on.

Just a quick note, in agreeance with Andrew's post: No, we definitely don't price match. It would pretty much make no sense for us because we set our pricing based on our feature set and infrastructure, not our competitors. A pricing structure that works for one company will rarely (if ever) work for another.

Our pricing is set as displayed on the main site and/or any promotional discounts that may be applicable at the time. Lots of factors go in to setting our price points: hardware, utilities, bandwidth, payroll, development and general infrastructure.

It was good speaking with you today, Daniel. I look forward to doing business with you.

Greetings:

There is a very old saying, “you get what you pay for,” and if you want better quality for the same price you have now, especially if you are paying four times less than a quality provider with a proven reputation, then maybe a reality check is needed.

Thank you.

There is nothing wrong with the quality of the provider I currently have...in fact they are highly spoken of here on WHT...and do have a proven reputation ;)

I've already had my reality check and decided i probably will be going with a more expensive option...though it's not at all because of the quality of service...it's because like i've said...a few changes are being made that i'm not fond of...simple as that

not to be mean or anything...but although you do have some great posts and have helped me out on more than one occasion dynamic...you're response here was quite off topic.

plus...although the majority of the cheaper hosts have poor quality of service...not all of them are like that...just have to be willing to search for a while.
