You may have heard of us through the reviews of our Clustered VPS and Clustered Webhosting Plans and Luxury Enterprise Clusters in the Shared Hosting forums. We have fully managed custom dedicated servers and server clusters. But we're still researching the bulk dedicated server market.

Our business group is diversified and specializes in IT, Data Warehousing, Mortgage Banking, Real Estate and Financial Industries.

Headquartered in Pomona, CA with branches in Glendora (CA), and Arizona, our group has been in this location for 20 years and will soon be celebrating our 25th year Anniversary in business. We own this building, data center and all our equipment.

This is a private business and a private datacenter. We do not give tours of our building due to the sensitive nature of the financial information we warehouse.

These 2 servers don't fit into our Clustered or VPS hosting due to lack of RAID10 and/or power and are available with a starting bid of $1.

$1 Dedicated Server #1
Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon
512 MB RAM
500GB Bandwith
120 Gigabyte IDE hard drive

$1 Dedicated Server #2
IBM 325 Dual Opteron 24x series.
1 GB RAM
500GB Bandwith
2 x 36 GB SCSI 10K hard drives

Bidding starts now, place your bids either by posting it here or emailing it to sales -at- imountain.com. We will choose the highest bid from EITHER the long-term or monthly payments. So bid long-term if you want to increase your chances. After the term you specify, Iron Mountain Hosting will set out new pricing and it is up to you if you accept or cancel then.

Standard Iron Mountain Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy apply. Failure to comply with these rules will result in the forfeit of your bid.

All winning bidders will be announced next week. You can ask us not to disclose the winning amount. We have a TON of Pentium 4 and AMD Athlon servers and we'll slowly start offering them up for bidding over the next few months. These servers are not available outside of bidding.

Bid format is
1. "I will pay $XXX per month for dedicated server #1/#2 for x months"
or
2. "I will pay $XXX for X years #1/#2". Yearly payments must be made in full prior to activation of service.

If the bid ends at $1, it's yours! Bidding ends 11:59PM Monday, August 20th and by placing a bid, you agree that we can announce your WHT username at the end of bidding.

serverTRADE - Trade in your server for hosting!

Have a spare server at home you're not using? Trade it in for hosting instead of selling it for pennies on Ebay.

Email Sales -at- iMountain.com with your offer.

Just tell us how much hosting you want in trade for your server, be specific like:
Bandwith Needed
How many months you want
If you're willing to pay $xx a month
Send photos of your server if you likeIf your server's not worth much, you can combine a fair monthly/yearly payment along with your server.

Server must be at minimum a Dual-Core or Dual Processor machine and this is an un-managed service.

If we like your offer, we'll make a deal.

I will pay $1 for 2 years, #1 & #2

imountain

The bid minimum is $1 each, not for both. So I'll reinterpret

Avythe, "I will pay for $1 year for #1 & I will pay $1 year for #2"
Iwr "I will pay $1 for 2 years for #1 & I will pay $1 for 2 years for #2"

If that's not acceptable, please correct me, otherwise, we'll consider that your standing bid.

Bids on both items will be considered separately and not as a package.

I will not comment after every bid but every few days, I'll post who I interpret to be the highest bidder for each item. Only registered WebhostingTalk members can bid.

Bid as many times as you like and feel free to cancel your bids...this isn't Ebay :D

Thank you

Just an update on the bidding:

Server #1 has no clear leader, we reserve the right to make the choice when it's long-term vs monthly price

So far, there is 1 clear cut leader for Server #2 (IBM 325, Dual Opteron 24x)
I will pay $60 per month for dedicated server #2 for 12 months

" VT6"

Greetings Tru1

You have the highest price per month, there are a few other users with longer terms and thereby a higher overall price. We will decide which one works better for us.

Please remember Multiple Month/Multiple year term bids are to be prepaid in advance.

Thank you for your bid Tru1

Greetings D'Godown

I have posted your bid retraction:
"I will NOT pay $11 per month for dedicated server #1 for 12 months
I will NOT pay $11 per month for dedicated server #2 for 12 months"

Yes sir, our conditions regarding the full year is in the first/opening post

2. "I will pay $XXX for X years #1/#2". Yearly payments must be made in full prior to activation of service.

This is a standard practice in Dedicated Server as well as VPS and Shared hosting. If you sign up for a year, you must pay for the year in advance to get the discounted pricing/better deal.

All bidding ends tomorrow night at 11:59.59pm, any posts after that time will not be considered.

In the future, we will shorten the number of open bidding days.

We thank you for your interest.

Just an update, there are approximately 2 more hours of bidding:

Also, we received a few emails regarding the purchase of these servers outside of bidding. As these are WHT specials, we will only let them go through the bidding process.

Bids with a posting time after 11:59.59 PST tonight will not be accepted.

Thank you for all the bids.

Server #1 - Dedicated P4 of Athlon XP was very close, this is still a hard decision to make but we will be going with SteadComJoe at $40 and 12 months.

Tru1 and Athlete, we will contact you both if SteadcomJoe decides to cancel his bid.

Server #2 is an easy one. VT6 won Server #2 (IBM 325, Dual Opteron 24x) for $60 a month for 12 months.

We will be contacting the winners today and hopefully have their servers up at latest tomorrow. If your name was listed, feel free to contact US sales -at-imountain.c0m

Bids next time will only be for 3-5 days instead of 7.

Thankyou for trying this out and we'll be back with another dedicated server this week with a $1 opening bid.
