Have you guys read something about web 3.0?
If not I'll suggest you to check:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_3
http://www.androidtech.com/knowledge-blog/2006/11/web-30-you-aint-seen-nothing-yet.html

What do you think of this new theories going on about the evolution of web, now called web 3.0, semantic web and the use of "artificial inteligence"?. how long would this be on effect on the internet?.

For me it seems we're just "enjoying" web 2.0 and its benefits, web 3.0 is obviously the next step. I sitll need to get information myself for this but i hope this thread should help for some of us ;)

I'd say first we need to make it past the BS web 2.0 and make nifty curvy corners and gloss graphics just web graphics. It's pathetic that growth now has to come over as a version to explain things the web's been doing for years without it.

When we can get to web 1.0 maybe we should start to think about progressing

Enjoyable benefits? The only thing I see here is the flash back to late 90's where every one though their company would look hip and happening if they had a flash into and then let their users select a low/hi bandwidth website. Only this time is nasty web colors, water reflection logos and rounded corners with some javascript for fancy form submissions and no browser reload on for comment postings.

Ah when pages were so simple http://www.feebleminds-gifs.com

Doesn't matter whether it is web 2.0 , 3.0 or 4.0 or x.0
It is still a website after all.

Hi,

In general I agree web 3 is just another name tag for the evolution of web site development. The website development industry is very new compared to many other industries. I do feel we should all keep a eye on the evolution of web development, for example "blog" and "pod cast" were new terminologies which have gather pace over the past years, I can remember a time when these words did not exsist on the internet and the same would appy to web 3. may not mean a lot now but in the future may be the next step in web evolution.

p.s - thanks for the links :)

Its conceptual to the idea of progress made towards the technology and structure of publishing user friendly sites that invoke a since of socialism amongst visitors as data is being processed and passed from one node to the next.

Web 3.0 is a term that has been coined with different meanings to describe the evolution of Web usage and interaction among several separate paths. These include transforming the Web into a database, a move towards making content accessible by multiple non-browser applications, the leveraging of artificial intelligence technologies, the Semantic web, the Geospatial Web,[citation needed] or the 3D web.

That looks very Dilbert to me :) . The only thing missing is "paradigm".
