I've been processing cards online now for quite awhile (while holding physical card most of the time) but I know retail rates are lower than internet rates.. (I've just never wanted a machine and of course was processing some true internet some times)
So was wondering what Merchant was recommended for a low Retail rate and low monthly gateway/statement fees?
(a $0 Monthly Minimum would be desired as well)
Currently paying $17 a month between gateway and statement fees and just got my Monthly Minimum lowered to $0

You can swipe the card on a cherry keyboard or USB mag card reader and get the swiped rate while using an electronic payment gateway.
if you are doing more than $30,000 a month, you usually can get some prety good deals and if you have two or more acconts, a lot of times the other fees can be waived.
The monthly minimum should not even have an impact on you

Hi Ophelus,
If you are processing around $1,000 per month, the typical difference between a card present and card-not-present rate might be around ~$5 per month.
As Corey suggests, you could use an online gateway that supports card-present sales, buy a USB magstripe device and be able to process without a problem.
However, keep in mind that you won't really be looking at a large cost savings unless the volume grows beyond that current level. If you got a merchant account with a free gateway option - that could reduce some of your costs further as well. I would say you might be looking at perhaps $100 or so per year in savings, minus any cost for the USB reader.
