Is it possible to use a VOIP adapter to use as a phone line for fax or dialing to a ISP? I cancelled my phone line a few years ago to go purely VOIP and cell phone. I have a dreamcast and I need to upload some files off of the box, the gamesystem it's self came standard with a 56k modem though there are broadband network cards available however rare and expensive for this system ($150.00 + on ebay). Anyone ever tried dialing into an ISP using their VOIP adapter?

Wow Dreamcasts cost over 150 now? How time flies when technology changes. That was an amazing system though. I dont know about dialing over to an isp through Voip though, although I imagine it wouldnt work.

No dreamcasts aren't $150.00, you can buy a dreamcast for $25.00 now on ebay. A certain accessory that was sold for it (The broadband adapter) however is going for a lot of money, they retailed for $50.00 and are selling for $150.00 on ebay due to demand. The dreamcast came stock with a 56k modem. Simply saying that spending $150.00 on a network card is not my idea of wise investment as I need to transfer some files off my dreamcast to my PC.

I guess you could try it... what is stopping you?
If anything I am sure you can rig something up (or go to a friends house) for under $150 bucks.
