Has anyone attended ISPCon (http://www.ispcon.com) in the past and would you say it was worth it?

I have never attended any trade industry conferences before, but I'd like to, for the purposes of networking and learning what's new out there. My company produces a specialized software product which we offer through the SaaS model only, so we have some of the issues that colo companies do.

It looks like HostingCon was a great event and it's really a shame I couldn't make it there. I see SAASCon (http://www.saascon.com) will take place next year, which could also be interesting.

The only conference I see coming up soon is ISPCon in October. Can anyone provide their opinions on if this has been a useful conference in the past? It sounds like HostingCon is the best option, but I'll have to wait nearly a year for that.

If this is in the wrong forum, please move it. For me, attending conferences is a business topic.

It depends on the conference I've found. SOme are worth the time, some are time sinks. However for most of the larger ones such as the one that you have linked I sadly can never make them (wish I could though) due to distance.

ISPCON is one of the largest though I would stick the HostingCon. Get a flare for what goes on at one of these events then make a decision if you have the time and funding to attend other events around the world.

I don't think ISPCON parties like the folks at HostingCon. UMMMM - that would be one to compare. HA!

Check out The Conference Community (http://www.confabb.com/) - there is a list of a lot of difference conventions that you might like to attend

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

We're UK based and I fancy a week in San Jose! Is it worth it?

UK exhibitions tend to be pretty rubbish (Internet World last year was just awful) . . . but then they are free!

Any opions welcome.
