I think Geotrust.com is pretty cheap. They're mostly the same, but some are very expensive.

Not all are compatible with every version of a web browser either. Make sure you read about browser version compatibility on each one of their websites.

Minus some of those free companies that do not work in certain browsers price is the main differnce.

We have been getting certs from SSL4less.com
So far no problem.

I would avoid Thawte. They have a hard time identifying someone if their driver’s license was tattooed to their forehead. The difficulties in getting a certificate from them has made us switch to GeoTrust. No compatibility problems so far. Besides, Thawte is now raising their prices.
